The Ultimate Candida Diet Program

Ultimate Candida Diet, by Lisa Richards and Dr Eric Wood

If you’ve been suffering from Candida for a while, you already know how difficult it is to find reliable information. The internet is full of contradictory statements, food lists that don’t match up, and wildly varying strategies and approaches to beating Candida.

That’s why, in 2012, I decided to design and write a new kind of Candida treatment plan. The Ultimate Candida Diet program is a comprehensive treatment program for Candida Related Complex. It is based on the latest research into Candida overgrowth and gut dysbiosis.

The program has 5 simple steps to give you relief from your Candida symptoms within 60 days. It goes into more detail than any other Candida program that you’ve seen, and contains lots of information that will improve your immune system, digestive health, energy levels, and more.

More recently, I have updated the program in collaboration with an experienced naturopathic doctor named Dr. Eric Wood. He has extensive experience treating chronic conditions like adrenal fatigue and gut-related problems like Candida Related Complex. As co-author, his contributions to the latest version of the program have been invaluable and made it even more effective.

Some Details About The Program

The Ultimate Candida Diet program is unique in several different ways.

First of all, it is much more detailed and up to date than any other Candida program. It is based on countless research reports into Candida and related conditions, as well as the considerable clinical experience of Dr Wood. It includes all the information you’ll ever need about the causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of Candida.

Second, it answers most of the questions that I get from my readers about their Candida treatment. I am often asked questions like, ‘How long should I stay on this stage?’ or, ‘Is this food OK to eat?’. In this program we have included the most comprehensive list of foods to eat that you’ll find anywhere. And there is also a visual timeline that will make the program so much easier to understand and follow.

Third, we have tried to make this program as practical as possible. So it includes printable shopping lists that you can take to your local store, workbooks to help you through your treatment, and practical advice all the way through each of the included books. I also designed this program with your budget in mind, so there are lots of money saving tips throughout the book.

Here are some of the parts of this program that I’m most proud of:

  • The simple timeline that guides you through each stage of the program
  • The 10-part email course that comes with your treatment
  • Printable shopping lists you can take to the store
  • The 8 factors that might have caused your Candida (and how to fix them)
  • Money saving tips to reduce the cost of your treatment
  • Two questionnaires to help you diagnose your Candida
  • The definitive guide to using probiotics and antifungals in your treatment
  • More than 100 delicious recipes to eat on each stage of the program

    Hi Lisa,
During the Cleanse stage (Iv’e had to go back to this because of a virus that set me back to square one!) I tried some ‘Swede’, and got numbness, tingling, anxiety all night long. Are swedes not safe during stage 1 and the cleanse? I”m finding it very limited with foods as I’m also allergic to salycilates, a celiac and have other intolerences (Such a psyillium husk)…. I feel I’m slowly getting somewhere but not soon enough…. I am so tempermental that I can only tak a 1/4 of my probiotic each morning (Even then it makes me sleep for an hour, a few hours later)….. Please help

    1. Lisa Richards says:

      Hi Kerri!
If the rutabaga/swede is giving you a reaction, then you should leave it out of your diet until later in your treatment. It is actually a strong antifungal, so it might even be causing some Die-Off symptoms.

  2. Stephanie says:

    Hi Lisa,

I have a question about your diet. I have been suffering from yeast infections for a few years now and nothing I have tried has seem to help. My biggest concern with this diet is that I only weight 106lbs. I cannot afford to lose anymore weight. Will I lose weight on this program? If so will I gain it back after a few weeks, or how can I avoid losing weight?

    Thank you in advance!

    Stephanie

    1. Hi Stephanie. Some people do lose weight on the program, but here are some foods that should help you to maintain your weight:

  3. Elizabeth says:

This is a wonderful plan and a very helpful guideline. Candida shows up visually in my hands as exzema. Less than 60 days of following the elimination of wheat, potatoes, sugar and fruit my hands cleared up and I lost 20 pounds. I feel wonderful and when I don’t it is because I have “slid” off the plan and I know what to do when that happens. I feel fortunate to have found and committed my diet to the advice of Lisa.

  4. Fran says:

I have had a problem with nail fungus on my hands and feet. Does your plan help get rid of this. Also, I’ve read that probiotics and antifungals add to the problem with yeast infections.

    1. Lisa Richards says:

Nail fungus can certainly be related to a more general Candida overgrowth. Probiotics and antifungals can help with this. You might also try applying coconut oil topically to the affected areas.

  5. Sharon Reid says:

Am loosing My hair can this diet help me

    1. Kathleen says:

You might want to have your doctor test your thyroid. Hair loss can associated with low thyroid and is certainly something you should research into further. It is my hypothyroid and daughters thrush that brought me to this site. The candida diet is like an extra strength version of the thyroid diet I have been researching and trying to implement. A lot of the symptoms are very similar and from my limited experience and reading candida and low thyroid seem to make good buddies. The candida diet looks like a great one for addressing both.

  6. Andrea says:

I’ve suffered from great hair loss for some unknown reason. Always thought it could be my diet, in going to try the candida diet. What do people have for breakfast ?

  7. Denecia Jones says:

    Hi Lisa,

Thanks for getting me a great start to Healing my body through your diet. The one thing that I really liked is the removing of all things that feed yeast.
After a month, I was still suffering from symptoms as if I wasn’t on a diet at all so I decided to remove the dairy products, focus on a soup based diet and add Now brand cranberry supplements to see if this could help relieve my Candida symptoms. With your diet and those additions I can feel the difference. Thanks for the suggestions and your help!

  8. Nancy says:

When was this published? Has it been updated? I didnt think Candida can be eradicated by just diet changes

    1. Lisa Richards says:

Hi Nancy, it was last updated a few months ago. Our program recommends a combination of diet, natural antifungals and probiotics, in a 5 step process. I hope that helps!

    2. Sandy B says:

Follow Lisa’s program to a T and you will be astonished at the results. And especially pay attention to what she says in the beginning of when to take the probiotics and oil of oregano. I decided to rush those and paid for it with candida die-off so I was unable to function for a week and a half. This is the best program you can follow. Buy her book and you will understand.

  9. Vickie says:

I really hope this works. I have had yeast infection that I cannot get rid of for over 2 years, even after getting antifungal prescriptions from my PC doctor. I’ve changed my diet, added probiotics. Nothing has worked. I also now have IBSC and Leaky Got. I’m willing to try anything as all this has certainly diminished the quality of my life. I want my energy back!

  10. Mihaela says:

Hai Lisa! I am from Romania. I am interested in The Candida Dieta And I have some questions:
    – I have an onycomycosis from few years, gums bleeding, joint pain. The Candida Dieta can help me?
    – I can eat sourdough bread? I love it.
    – The Candida Dieta has any risk for heath?

    1. Lisa Richards says:

Yes, the candida diet should help with nail infections and onychomycosis. You might also want to try soaking your nails in white vinegar for 15 minutes, 3 times a week. That often helps 🙂

Sourdough bread is not a bad choice. It does still contain gluten which can irritate the gut, but the gluten in sourdough tends to irritate people much less.

There are health risks associated with any dietary change. If you’re concerned, check with your doctor first!
