right i have been on this diet about 6 weeks now, i have lost a nice amount of weight, im feeling great, havent felt so good in years, the bloatness has gone and my digestive system seems to be working alot better,

but this last week i have been so bloated! and was seeing if anyone could point out what i am eating or drinking!

now the only things i have changed in the last week is.. i have been having oats in the morning, 1day they did have gluten in but the next 4 days were gluten free oats, and i had it mixed with 100ml cocunut milk and 100ml water.

have been taking vitamin c which are lactose yeast and gluten free. reason why i say this is because i do have allgeries to wheat but the product doesnt say if it has wheat in these, so if they did have wheat could it maybe be that bloating me?

and the only other thing i have changed is drinking alot of water like, 4 litres a day, even more sometimes,

i have eaten the odd one sweet or a dried apricot now and then, but this week i have been so bloated.. anyone pin point what may be causing this?

    cheers guys..

p.s found some oat milk? anyhone had this before and isit any good??

I’d look no further than the oats causing the bloating. We don’t recommend oats, even gluten free ones on the diet because of the starch content. If you were allowed starch, you could eat things like corn, potatoes, and carrots. Oats are also a grain which is to be avoided on the diet as well…this is a grain free diet.

Oat milk is even worse because it concentrates the oat.

Oat bran is allowed on the diet because it feeds the beneficial bacteria in the gut. Oats do not do this nearly as much.

I’ve been on the diet for over a year and still don’t eat oats myself.

ok i shall avoid oats and see how this goes…

oat bran and half water half coconut milk be ok then?

is brown rice a grain? because I have been eating it everyday. every meal and I have been fine with that,

only the last week i have been hugely bloated,

only reason i want oats is to give me some carbs and energy in the morning, fed up of omelette’s lol

    cheers raster

Me and able don’t recommend eating rice either. If you do eat rice…black rice, red rice, and wild rice are much better choices because they contain higher levels of nutrients. Eating rice everyday can set back your treatment from my experience. Also, if you replace rice with something like buckwheat (which has similar texture and flavor) you might find a greater benefit because buckwheat also is a prebiotic that feeds the beneficial bacteria of the gut. Rice contains some prebiotics but not nearly close to the same level as buckwheat. Buckwheat is only 25% starch as well. Another problem with rice is can show up undigested in your stools which means it ferments in the gut(not good).

Brown Rice is also inflammatory, contains high amounts of starch, and a little bit of sugar:

Wild rice is less inflammatory and is lower on the glycemic index:

I’d save rice for stages 2/3 when you won’t experience any setback from eating them.

We have a strict forum diet if you want to check it out; email able900 for a copy.

as of tomorrow water from a cup and see how i feel doing that,

im having my blood tested on thursday by a specialist, meant to be really good, i shall let you know how it goes

Gulping water or food could potentially cause bloating, though one would think burping would accompany such as well.

I don’t know why people have bloating issues, as it’s something which got really bad for me while taking huge amounts of probiotics. Sometimes, meat can create bloating since it creates ammonia upon digestion which combined with candida created ammonia was horrible: thus I don’t eat read meat anymore nor not much meat other than fish. It took a while for the bloating to gradually lessen but, required discontinuing probiotics. I realize this isn’t a long term treatment solution since probiotics are so important to successful treatment and started taking much lower dosages this past week in a test to see if bloating happens again. BTW – oat meal/bran helped me get over that period of severe and painful bloating so not sure if they helped me or hurt me. Not that they helped treat candida but, there’s something to be said about feeling better, even if just a little.

It’s frustrating to try to not only figure out a forward path but, navigate through new symptoms like bloating along the way. Blessings to you and I would be interested in hearing back on what you think is causing your issues.

FYI – working out could stress you adrenal/thyroids while under treatment, I’d be careful about over doing it while on treatment. Any/all stress accumulates with these systems.

well today i woke up with a very flat belly, i have taken my probiotics since and also had half water half coconut milk oats and i feel fine, so i really think it was the excessive amounts of water I was drinking from a water bottle,

if you could of seen my belly yesterday from today you’d me amazed! i really dont think its anyhthing I have eaten as I would still be bloated now,

i will keep this up eating oats, brown rice etc and let you know if i become bloated again

    Hi Jamespaul
I have read your post and thought I would comment on my experiences as it may help! I had been eating oats in the morning too until finding out that we aren’t supposed to have them on the Candida diet. I was gutted because they are the only thing that seems to fill me up in the morning. They never made me bloated but I have been on a diet for awhile and my symptoms are still fairly bad, meaning that there is something in my diet that is feeding the Candida. I don’t know about you but I find this diet a complete nightmare and would rather get it over an done with as soon as possible so I can start adding treats in again! So, I think that whilst oats don’t cause any bloating they are surely not doing your Candida any good and I think it can only be a good thing to cut them out and see what the results are.

I have just started eating Oat Bran for breakfast so I will see how I get on with that. I also have ocassional bloating, and it is usually after eating something I shouldn’t. It has usually gone by the morning and I am back to a very flat stomach again like you, so you can’t discount food because your stomach has returned to normal overnight. Don’t forget that your body repairs overnight and you are not eating for that amount of time (for most ppl 8 hours)so it is likely that the stomach returns to normal after that time (i’m by no means an expert, but it does make sense).

    Hope this helps a little!

I used to get lot of bloating from kefir, but not so much anymore.

I agree, cut out the oats and the brown rice. My symptoms did not go away until after I cut out brown rice.

In stage 2 of the diet, I started with Oat Bran for breakfast and still have it every morning now. I don’t have any bloating from it and it’s very filling. Gets me through the morning.
