Since starting the diet two weeks ago I notice my tongue is coated. Not white necessarily but more a hint of green or brown.
Is this a good sign, like I am detoxing, or a not-so-good sign?
(I must add, before the diet my tongue was fairly normal)July 4, 2013 at 6:59 pm #107233

My thrush got worse and changed from white to green when I started the diet. It also gets worse with die-off.
Your thrush will do things throughout the diet. A better barometer of your health, is how you’re feeling overall. The tongue will be one of the last things to clear up.July 4, 2013 at 7:24 pm #107235

Contrary to popular belief, I am always sceptical of the notion that the white coating on the tongue is thrush (unless a MD has confirmed this), never mind coating of a different colour.
In TCM, a brown/greenish coating on the tongue is representative of damp heat. It is essentially showing the body is an imbalanced state. This is potentially due to the increase in toxins circulating your body. Be sure to keep up with your detox strategies and add more in if you are feel overwhelmed. My tongue went white only after starting the diet then got better again once the harshest stage was over.July 4, 2013 at 7:32 pm #107236
Hmmm, thanks Cheesey, then I guess in my case it could be a good sign as it might indicate die off. I never had a coated tongue problem before.July 4, 2013 at 7:33 pm #107237

the green could also be from eating green foods.July 5, 2013 at 10:08 pm #107297

I can’t figure out the white tongue either. My allergies are going away, after six months on Nystatin. But the tongue stays coated in the back. So either I still have candida in my colon, or the coating is caused by something else.
