The diet has been going well so far. I am now treating H. Pylori as well as candida, and I’m 2 1/2 weeks into Mastic Gum supplementation. It nipped my stomach aches in the bud, to the point where I no longer have any pain when I take Coconut Oil or high CFU probiotics.
Every day, I am currently taking:
3 tbsp CO – AM, Noon, PM
3 Mastic Gum, 500mg – 2AM, 1PM
Oil of Oregano – 3 drops, 2x daily (just started this yesterday, limiting it to 2 weeks)
25 billion Ultimate Flora for Women – 2x daily (just started this 3 days ago. it’s so low because I am cautious to irritate my stomach with a full-out Pylori-Acidophilus war like last time, so I’m increasing slowly. Today I will take it 3x)
1.5 cups Plain Kefir/Yogurt (same as above with the slow increase; the H. Pylori hated it before)
3-4 cloves of Raw Garlic, crushed and mixed into guacamole or pure tahini
1/2 tsp Cayenne
1/2 tsp Turmeric
2+ tbsp ACV (whenever I feel a stomachache coming on, or if I’m bloated)
Tons and tons of water, frequent chamomile/ginger tea
The only carbs I eat are buckwheat, oat bran, and coconut flour. Of those, oat bran’s the only one I have every day. I have given up meat indefinitely, and occasionally eat eggs.
I have no food allergies or malabsorption. Miraculously, I’m excellent on those fronts. I would not be surprised if I have more parasites/gutbugs than just the H. Pylori, though.
Now that the H. Pylori is getting under control, I’m very anxious to attack the Candida fiercely and fill myself with good bacteria/etc. I’ve been on this diet for 4 months now, and I know that my internal ecosystem is prepped and ready. I don’t get the extreme, nauseous/sick die-off reactions that many people here talk about – all I have ever had were those awful stomach aches, gas/bloating, mood swings/fatigue, and occasional constipation/diarrhea (and I always treat the former well enough that I ensure 1 bowel movement per day). I find them all manageable.
What bothers me is knowing that the carbs I’m eating contain starch, even in small amounts (buckwheat 25%), oat bran up to 50%). I know why they’re allowed (fibrous, good prebiotics, etc), but right now I am considering giving them up entirely for awhile.
Can I replace the lost carbs with coconut oil and olive oil, the lost fiber with chia seeds/miracle fiber in my yogurt and more fibrous veggies, and focus on non-starch prebiotics like garlic and onions?
I also know this is pretty much what the first 1-2 weeks of the diet essentially looks like, so I know it’s doable short term; but I guess I’m wondering what’s the harm in doing this long-term, provided I consume enough Coconut Oil for my body to convert its ketones into glucose?
This question is not meant to challenge the Strict Diet; I’m simply curious as to what might happen, and if this would speed up my recovery.

I would not replace carbs with anything because you need carbs to survive and function in life and the lack of them will be detrimental.
