I’ve been on the diet for 1 year for issues with vaginal infections because of a 1 week round of antibiotics. It’s been two years since I took those pills, and 1 full year on the diet, and I STILL can’t get back to normal.
However my question is actually about my tongue. I did acupuncture for a few months, and my acupuncturist pointed out that I have these raised red bumps on the back of my tongue. Recently, I started looking at them, and have noticed that there is an accumulation of white gunk around the bumps. It’s freaking me out that it might possibly be oral candida, because I don’t understand why I should have this. Is that what it sounds like? I have no oral symptoms, just something I notice when I look at it. If I brush my tongue (which I never really do) some of it will come off, but most of it sticks around.
I have acupuncture Monday, so I’ll ask what she thinks it looks like, but what do you think?July 27, 2013 at 9:12 pm #108288
Here are two pics
The first I took before I tried to brush off my tongue- the quality isn’t great though…
Here is what it looks like after I cleaned some of it offJuly 27, 2013 at 9:21 pm #108290
trying the pics again…just copy/paste into internet explorer
Before (sorry not the best quality)
After I cleaned off my tongue with a toothbrush, but you can still see some of the ‘white stuff’ around the bumps that I’m concerned about…July 29, 2013 at 8:52 am #108348

I’ve had the red bumps and white stuff too. It’s what made me start the diet because I assumed it was oral thrush. After almost 2 months on the diet, I’ve noticed that the white stuff has gone down, but the red bumps are still there. I think they are normal as I’ve had them checked out by a few doctors and they haven’t said anything. Then again what do doctors know about candida, right?August 6, 2013 at 6:43 pm #108719

I have 2 red bumps on the back of my tongue, almost equally apart from one another. I think I have always had them. I am pretty sure those are normal. I probably only noticed them for the first time when I got the white/yellow coating.August 6, 2013 at 7:24 pm #108724

Its called oral thrush. If you get oral thrush really bad you get angular chilitis which is very painful. Thank goodness you don’t have that. If you were to do oil pulling this would reduce the amount in your mouth but it will come back again if the imbalance in your gut is left unaddressed.
