Hi, does anyone think the alcohol in water kefir would pose a problem to the gut, if one is suffering from leaky gut? I know it’s not much alcohol, but having not been drinking any, i definitely get a buzz when i have my 3 glasses of water kefir during dinner. Perhaps I should toss the water and just eat the crystals?
    Thank you!,

To add to this..do both water and milk kefir create alcohol? I can’t have any alcohol and don’t want to get into making either of these if they do…

Yes, but it’s like .5% with milk kefir and 3% with water kefir. i don’t think any of us are supposed to. but.. i don’t seem to have a reaction (rash) from this alcohol whereas i do if i drink rum, vodka or wine.

Kefir alcohol content shouldnt have an adverse effect on your gut. you get more % the longer you ferment it.

Here is a good article on healing your gut and they reccomend drinking tons of kefir.
