Your gut flora is alive and responds to everything you do. There’s no use replanting a forest to cut down the trees. A Western diet is only as “normal” as far as junk food company marketing tells you, but there’s nothing normal about it in biochemical terms. It’s a great way to damage just about every part of your body and mind, and surges in rates of degenerative diseases like diabetes, Alzheimer’s and cancer are a reflection of this.
Eating a pasta and cake diet may or may not give you a candida overgrowth, but it will certainly give you a lot of other problems to worry about. If you don’t learn that it’s your diet and lifestyle that support your health from this, a lot of your suffering will be in vain.
How many people do you know who moan of headaches, joint aches, acid reflux, cavities, poor skin etc? Do you think all their problems are completely unrelated to their shitty diets? Next time you’re in the supermarket and see an old woman limping along with a face like a worn leather sack, look in her shopping trolley. There’s a reason people age like crap, and it isn’t genetic.
This doesn’t mean you can never eat junk again; it just means you need to learn to be responsible about your diet and lifestyle if you want to stay healthy. The same applies to the rest of the population who aren’t as healthy as they may appear.
