Completely cutting sugars won’t harm you, even if it may not be necessary in all cases. But as no harm is done, you could try it.
Between meals, I usually take some yogurt. The natural one, of course, without added sugar. I understand such yogurt may be hard to find in the USA; over here, it is available in any random supermarket.
I’ve also used Hafervoll flapjacks between meals. They are delicious, but they do contain a lot of calories, so be careful if you have a weight problem.
