I’m not sure how to answer this because of the lack of information on their website. I understand that the ingredients are oats, water and sea salt, but I don’t know what the oats themselves consist of. Organic oat bran (not the supermarket type) is acceptable because of the way the oat product is derived from the oat.
Grains such as wheat have a clearly defined bran and endosperm, but oats have a blurry line between the bran and the oat flour. Oat bran flour involves grinding and sieving groats so that the bran is less than half of the original ground oat product. This is to say that producers remove at least half of the original ground oat for flour to ensure that enough of the remaining product consists of bran. The final product must be at least 16 percent fiber by weight and at least one-third of the fiber must be soluble. This I basically why such oat products as Bob’s Red Mill Oat Bran is acceptable on the diet, but is oat milk made in this fashion?
