Hey, Raster, thanks for the reply.

Why is this? I stand by my statement that if the truth of many of the claims made by this website were obvious, then I would have heard about them from my doctor and not an alternative medicine website. Since they are not obvious, questioning and understanding are necessary.
Sugar exists in nearly all vegetables, so yes there is no way to avoid it. Thats why I’ve come up with the 25g of sugar per day rule. If you can sneak in a small serving of blueberries with this threshold, you shouldn’t have a problem for instance. A head of lettuce has 3g of sugar, and a red onion has 4g of sugar.
Ah, this makes a lot of sense. Thanks.
Ya, candida seems like a stretch at first, but I think its a big medical conspiracy; drs dont want to heal people, they just want to stop their symptoms. Healing your symptoms is a completely different story than prescribing medication. Western medicine doesn’t heal in my opinion.
Wait. You’re serious? On a scale from 1-10, my skeptical level has just shot up to about a 42. You think that doctors go through a decade of school because they want to help people and somewhere along the way they get indoctrinated to do the exact opposite? Yes, we have some problems in Western medicine. The biggest being that we have a reactive rather than proactive paradigm, but this is largely due to the way most countries run their health care programs. This problem is recognized and the ideal of proactive medicine is being worked towards, both in the political and medical arenas. I am friends with some doctors, and I have talked to them about just this- they lament the way things are, but are extremely sincere and only wish to help their patients. I do not believe that someone would subject themselves to that many years of stress and work unless it was an altruistic desire. Doctors are smart people, and know they could make more money working less hours in business or law. They do what they do because they find the idea of helping people attractive.
The reason I believe meat is left out is because it causes ammonia (gas) production in the body…getting a lot of gas is a sign of a digestion problem and/or a food intolerance/allergy.
But if it mimics the symptoms a problem, but doesn’t actually create a problem… What’s the problem? I am interested in doing the cleanse bit of it, but I’m having difficulty understanding why meat and eggs aren’t on the list of acceptable foods.
If you want a story about leaky gut, I have a great one for you…I had toxic mold poisoning from my apartment and I became allergic to nearly everything. 1 year on the diet later, I am almost completely not allergic to anything.
I am very glad that you found a solution and that you are now much better. However, it seems to me that neither of us(guessing you haven’t been to medical school) are qualified to make the assertions that A) You had leaky guy syndrome or B) the diet fixed it. It could have been another cause, or it could have been exactly the diet that resolved the issue, but for reasons we don’t understand. Even if you say you are 99% sure of the diagnosis, and 99% sure of the treatment, then it is only reasonable to say that the treatment is ‘very probably the cure,’ or ‘almost certainly the cure.’ But it is not rational to say that it is the cure. That would require laboratory conditions, many test subjects, and multiple expert analyses and the rest of the falsification process. Perhaps that was much longer than it needed to be, but I wanted to provide a little background for when I say that yes, that seems plausible, reasonable, and probable, but I am not going to commit to complete belief.
We can hook you up with all sorts of articles, and you can make a judgement about it at that point…
I am not terribly interested in the truth of whether or not the diet will work, as I’m going to give it a go, being at least that much convinced. I am patient and will see- and then I will be able to add my own anecdotal evidence to the pot! At this point I am really just interested in the procedure of the diet, so I may do it in the best possible way.
Thanks for you time, raster,
Does that security image confirmation ever go away? That thing’s obnoxious.
