If you want a good place to start looking for information about candida and learn a whole lot in a little bit of time, I would check out dr. mcoombs (but not follow his plan).
Sugar exists in nearly all vegetables, so yes there is no way to avoid it. Thats why I’ve come up with the 25g of sugar per day rule. If you can sneak in a small serving of blueberries with this threshold, you shouldn’t have a problem for instance. A head of lettuce has 3g of sugar, and a red onion has 4g of sugar.
Ya, candida seems like a stretch at first, but I think its a big medical conspiracy; drs dont want to heal people, they just want to stop their symptoms. Healing your symptoms is a completely different story than prescribing medication. Western medicine doesn’t heal in my opinion.
You don’t have to do the cleanse if you don’t want to. The reason I believe meat is left out is because it causes ammonia (gas) production in the body…getting a lot of gas is a sign of a digestion problem and/or a food intolerance/allergy. The cleanse doesn’t even come close to killing all of the candida in the body, so don’t expect a cure by doing this in itself.
If you want a story about leaky gut, I have a great one for you…I had toxic mold poisoning from my apartment and I became allergic to nearly everything. 1 year on the diet later, I am almost completely not allergic to anything.
