Frankly, I’m not so sure about that.
Don’t get me wrong, I think you are well educated on these fields. Clearly above average, if I may say so.
But others don’t know everything. Heck, I don’t know everything. So it never harms to share our knowledge. I’m here for sharing my knowledge, and for obtaining others’ knowledge about things where my expertise is lacking. The first I do by writing, the second by reading (and by writing too – that is, by asking questions).
Just one example where my knowledge may help others: herd immunity. I asked about that. You were the only one who answered. From others who responded earlier in this thread, I know from what they wrote that they really haven’t got a clue about herd immunity. Then there are others who don’t react here, but who do read. I think I can help them by offering some of my knowledge to them. Not to force it through their throats (do you get what I mean, or is this a saying that’s local to my country only?), but to offer it to them, so they can decide for themselves whether this view is or isn’t worthwhile.
In addition to knowledge (facts), my story will inevitably contain some opinions. But as others are free to express their opinions without having to fear an attack, I guess I too am free to express my opinions without having to fear an attack.
Anyway, to cut a long story short: providing an overview of this important field will certainly harm no-one, and it may benefit many. The net effect is therefore positive – so writing is what I’ll do.
