If its any comfort to you, you are not alone. And cfs is very treatable. I have been battling not only candida but a host of other things- cfs, blood sugar/energy problems, ocd, muscle pains/spasms, hormone (adrenal) problems etc. Inflammation and energy problems are a bitch. I think anyone that is predisposed to cfs for whatever reason will develop candida overgrowth when given antibiotics. The trick is turning around the cfs first. Cfs is always caused by or accompanied by immune dysfunction. Find the problem in the metabolic pathway and support the immune system and get it to calm down. Its alot of work, alot of studying, alot of tests and alot of trial and error. And alot of putting up with ignorant assholes telling you its all in your head blah blah blah (I just had to throw that in there, dont listen to em, if I did I would have never made the progress I have). I personally developed this major overgrowth because at the end of last year, I decided to try to treat my fatigue with a high fruit and vege diet, which actually had a positive effect on my energy btw. It fueled the mild candida overgrowth that I unknowingly had developed because of taking antibiotics for a tooth infection a year ago(word of the wise to everyone, dont ever get a root canal and get any you have taken out, read up on Weston Price and his work) I had previously had cfs for 10 years, and it got alot worse last summer. Candida made it worse and the heat really brought it out. Hence the diet change and bad infestation, inflammation and food allergies. This caused my cfs, and all the other problems I listed to become much worse. It, probably not unlike yours now, was previously so bad at times that I couldnt stand up and getting up and going to the bathroom was harder than running a 6 minute mile when I was healthy in my high school days. But with persistence and knowledge I have come a long way. I was having major problems on the diet as well. As it turns out the major cause in my case was that my body, for reasons yet to be determined, does not produce enough of the amino acid carnitine. This amino acid is responsible for shuttling long chain fatty acids into the mitochondria. If the body cannot do this, it cannot produce energy on this diet, or very much on a regular diet either. This supplement alone has taken me from wishing death upon myself to feeling just about normal, with all symptoms. There were a few others that I had major gains with as well. Im sure that this will help my immune system out which will help with everything else in turn. Im not giving up until I feel normal and have no active infections. Theres alot left on the table still.
Im just writing this to let you know that it is possible to feel better. Just dont give up. Good luck and we’re all here for ya.
