Candida Diet

Step Three: Repopulation

Repopulation

After completing Steps 1 and 2, you have hopefully detoxed your system and starved or killed off most of the excess Candida growth.

Now is the time to re-seed your gut with a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria, and move on to a long term diet plan that will prevent Candidiasis from reappearing.

Key Points

Probiotics

Probiotics are the ‘good’ bacteria that maintain balance in your gut, but which are often displaced by the Candida overgrowth. Now that you have tackled your Candidiasis, it’s time to repopulate your intestine with the right kind of bacteria to make sure that it doesn’t return.

There are two ways to get those probiotics into your system. You can either take supplements like Threelac or Fivelac, or eat probiotic foods such as fermented cabbage, sauerkraut, kimchi or probiotic yogurt.

Long Term Diet Plan

Steps 1 and 2 of the Candida diet are quite strict on what you can eat, but the good news is that in Step 3 you can start reintroducing most of the foods again. The important thing is to bring them back one at a time, so you will easily recognize any food allergies that may have been a contributing factor to your Candidiasis.

Certain foods should still be avoided as much as possible though. Keep your dairy consumption to a minimum, and try to avoid sugary sweets or soft drinks. Eat as many whole foods as possible and steer clear of processed and packaged foods.
