From my experience it sets back your recovery but you can still heal and get better despite the smoke. It suppresses the immune system and drains the adrenal glands. It isn’t good for one of your most important organs, your lungs. You can recover faster without it of course and after a year on the diet and smoking, I am mostly symptom free.
How much faster would I recover if I didn’t smoke? Its hard to say, but I think maybe a month or two faster after a year on the diet.
