Thank you for the tips… I have a 12 and 8 year old! An bad diet has been around too long!!! So it’s a slow change.
I’ve never done Kefir…any suggestions? Do you make your own?
Yes, I make my own as this is the only way you will know for sure that it was fermented right and most likely it has enough probiotics in there. Commercial might have too much sugar and most likely they must kill most of the good bacteria to stop the fermentation process. Not sure, but home made is for sure better.
You can purchase grains online. I am not in US so I cannot help with that, but you can try and search the forum, I think it has been discussed few times.
Here is a great web site where you can find out anything you ever wanted to know about kefir: http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/Makekefir.html
Hope this helps.
Good luck with the switch in diet! I caught my kids while still young so I am lucky there.
