Soak/sprout, rinse and cook the bejesus out of them and you should be able to avoid a good amount of the crap in beans (phytate, goitrogens, phytoestrogens etc). They may digest easier too. Some people still have issues with the fibre, but perhaps you can develop tolerance if you build up the portion sizes or generally stick to smaller servings.
