Cool Almond Mint Smoothie
This Cool Almond Mint Smoothie is a great way to rehydrate your body after a good night’s sleep. Refreshingly minty, and packed full of healthy fats and protein, it’s the perfect smoothie to accompany your breakfast or to take on the go. This cold, creamy smoothie is just as filling as it is tasty. In the summer months, you can also use it as a wonderful after dinner treat. Just add a sprig of fresh mint, and serve!
Nut milks and nut butters are both on the ‘maybe’ list of foods to eat. That means you should eat them in relatively small amounts. For example, if you drink a glass of this smoothie in the morning then you should probably avoid nut milks and nut butters for the rest of the day.
Using almond milk ice cubes will give your smoothie more flavor than using plain ice cubes. Simply freeze almond milk in an ice cube tray, then store in your freezer in a covered container until ready to use. Adding more almond milk ice cubes will make your smoothie extra thick and icy. Look for a good organic brand of almond milk, or make your own at home!

- 8 drops liquid stevia
- 10 mint leaves

I have a question. It says that you can use almond milk, but doesn’t almond milk contain sugar? I’d really like to know before I buy one. Thank you!!
I actually make my own almond milk — it’s surprisingly easy to do!
Look for the unsweetened almond milk. Most groceries have it. I’ve tried making my own and I don’t find it very easy.
There is actually a really easy way to make almond milk. Check out this video on youtube.
This video adds sweetener but of course you do not have to add it.
There’s tons of unsweetened brands of almond milk. 🙂
Trader Joe’s is good and probably the least expensive. The 365 brand at Whole Food is good, too.
This looks so good! I have a mint plant that’s thriving like crazy and have been looking for mint recipes! Can’t wait to try this tomorrow morning!
This looks great but how can I eat this on the candida diet since it has sugar?
There is no sugar added to this recipe
To get a vanilla extract you must use alcohol. Those without alcohol are vanilla flavour.
You can buy vanilla beans and turn them into powder in a coffee grinder.
I added spinach to mine. Yum!
You can make your own non-alcoholic vanilla using vegetable glycerin and organic vanilla bean. Just use one cup of vegetable glycerin and six split vanilla beans and let sit for several months until it is the color and taste that you desire. Store in a dark cupboard and shake at least once per week.
Thank You ,So Very Very Much . WOW, I can’t wait to get started on Infor and Action. You are Blessed .
My allergy Doctor wants me to avoid all sweeteners, and I’m allergic to all Alcohols.
Is this recipe ok just drinking the almond milk, and adding the fresh mint?
Can unsweetened coconut milk be used in place of almond milk? I don’t have ant alcohol free vanilla can it be left out?
I made it with unsweetened almond milk and left out the stevia. It is delicious! It’ll be my go to morning shake. Love the slight mint flavor. Thank you for coming up with these great recipes!
You could use vanilla powder too … or leave it out … I use Monk Fruit (no side effects) to sweeten mine.
This comment does not relate to the drink but I don’t know where to post it on this site. I have been looking into research relating to heavy metal toxicity. I found that (a) Some evidence suggests that candida can bind to certain toxic heavy metals and prevents them from entering the bloodstream. This ability of candida protects the body but may also cause candida to overgrow which leads to yeast infection issues in the body. Also, (b) In a healthy state, the good bacteria in the gut limits candida from overgrowing. Toxic heavy metals can damage the healthy bacteria in the gut and disturb the good bacteria – candida balance; with less good bacteria to control candida’s growth, candida as an opportunistic organisms changes into a more aggressive fungal form that spreads and releases over 80 different toxins. These toxins can get anywhere in the body, suppress the immune system and cause a wide variety of health issues and yeast infections all over the body.
The gentlest way to remove heavy toxic metals is to use SODIUM ALGINATE. This is a seaweed and in powdered form is also used by chefs to make jelly. I hope this info helps.
