10 Reasons To Quit Sugar: An Infographic
Over the last few years, many health experts and nutritionists have begun to warn against excess sugar consumption, and with good reason. Researchers have now found links between sugar and numerous aspects of our health.
We also know that excess sugar contributes to Candida and other digestive problems. For example, Candida albicans uses sugar to build its cell walls, convert to its fungal form, and create the biofilms that protect it from your immune system.
If you are looking to reduce your sugar consumption, start by quitting added sugars like honey, table sugar, or anything that is added processed food to make it taste sweeter. Then, start reducing the amount of natural sugars in your diet. These might include fruits with a high glycemic load, and starchy vegetables. Take a look at the list of foods to eat on the Candida diet for some tips on which foods are safe to eat.
Here is a simple infographic detailing ten of the ways in which sugar can affect your health. This is all based on research conducted over the past few years (I have included the research links at the bottom of the infographic). If you find it useful, please remember to share on Pinterest, Facebook and elsewhere!

I would love to purchase this “infographic” as a poster and hang it in our kitchen!!! I would also send more posters to my daughter’s school, for every classroom. The teachers there hand out candy and sweets like it’s Christmas every day. Would you think of making this into a poster that people could buy?
I would love to see more suggestions for snacks – especially things that you can easily pack in your handbag as an alternative to chocolate/crisps and fruit.
I think you should add 3 more reasons to quit sugar: depression, anxiety and addiction. See http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/where-science-meets-the-steps/201309/4-ways-sugar-could-be-harming-your-mental-health
I totally agree with this suggestion and the one to sell a poster.
Yes. Great infographic! Thanks for this Lisa. I’ve been curious about using chocolate in a candida diet. I understand it has a little caffeine in it but I’d like make something chocolate with stevia. Is it just the caffeine that makes it a bad choice? Maybe a blog on chocolate? 🙂
If you have allergies to aspergillus you should not eat fermented food.
Healthy sugar from raw honey and fruits is not the problem. The problem is any processed sugar.
