The fish oil supplement should say what kind of fish it’s sourced from. Small fish are all fine. Mercury accumulates further up the food chain.

Honestly, you need lots of quality animal fats (and protein) to heal. With a yeast problem you’re going to have a leaky gut and therefore inflammation, and really, it’s the inflammation that will be causing most of your problems. So good animal fats (ie. those with loads of omega 3s) from grass fed animals are going to do you more good than eating meat will do you harm. Also, your gut won’t heal without zinc and all those other micronutrients you won’t get from an unbalanced diet.

I don’t know if coffee is the worst thing. Balance out the pros and cons.

So often that one cup of coffee in the morning was all I looked forward to. It was twenty minutes of peace that I could indulge in. That has to have a positive impact on health I think.

I also found that one cup gave me a bit of an immune boost (so does black tea). But more than this worked against me. Coffee also helps my digestion so much.

Of course, if your adrenals are fried that’s a big deal and I’d probably wait until those get better.

    Can you link this impossible?

I’m not sure about Able either. He always seemed to me an exceptionally compassionate person. I’m a little surprised how quickly some people around here turned on him when he was booted. He helped a lot of people, including me.

Frequent urination can be an indicator of kidney problems. For me it is a symptom of inflammation.

You can make kombucha for pennies at home and ferment it long enough that there’s no sugar. The store bought stuff is quite expensive if you’re going to make a habit out of it. 2 g also isn’t much sugar, but you can reduce that.

I drank gallons of that stuff last summer (as well as kefirs and sauerkraut), and it drastically reduced my die-off to almost nill.

I’ve since stopped because I react to the yeast.

You can also do self-massage to get your bowels moving. I’ve done this as a massage therapist with clients before and it’s quite effective.

Lie flat on your back and relax your abdominals.

You can alternate two different patterns of massage. It may take 20 minutes or so to get things moving, so be patient.

Your colon starts and rises on the right side, an inch or two in from the fold where your thigh meets your abdomen. You can massage it up the right side of your abdomen until you hit the lower edge of your rib cage. Then you can follow it straight across your abdomen at or slightly above your belly button. It dives south again on the left side and angles back in roughly parallel and an inch or two in from to the inguinal fold (the crease where your thigh meets your abdomen.) If you need to move your bowels, you’ll be able to feel your colon as a more solid feeling tube of material. You can do all this work through clothing, or you can use a bit of oil and work on bare skin. Olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, anything edible will be fine for your skin.

The first massage move you can do is to rub with your whole palm or the flat of your first three fingers, using moderate pressure and a fairly slow pace in a clockwise circle (if you were looking down onto your belly from above) starting on the lower right side, across the midline and down the left side. Find a pace that feels comfortable and experiment with increasing pressure a bit. No need to go deeply, don’t make it painful. You’re just trying to wake up the peristaltic motion urges.

You can alternate this with some small circling motions using the first two or three finger pads (the part of the finger you’d get fingerprinted from). Make small circles about the size of a half dollar over the same pathway, starting at the lower right border of your abdomen. Slide your fingers an inch or so further along the pathway after each circle that you make, up the right side, across the midline and down the left side. Again, experiment with increasing the pressure of the circles, but don’t make it painful. Do several rounds of the tiny circles then switch back to the broader massage.

Keep switching off between the two techniques for 15-20 minutes. Don’t despair if you don’t get a bowel movement after the first attempt. Try again the next morning. You could probably do this twice a day until you get a bowel movement.

    Hope this helps,
    Sue

I used to use this technique on my baby sister & son when they were infants and inconsolable. Many times it was followed by a big fart and they would calm right down lol

*chuckle* I thought I was the only one that did this…

I tried it for a couple of days. I noticed an improvement for some immune symptoms but it did increase some other inflammation, as impossible says. I stopped to concentrate on reducing inflammation instead for a week or two and will reintroduce the immunophen then.

2 years ago you didnt have a cold or the flu, but 1 year ago you had the worst case of strep your doctor ever saw…
May I ask what you were visiting the doctor for then, if you had no symptoms?

I know im misunderstanding somewhere. I read alot into facial communication so im not so quick on posts.

What im gathering then is that you could have potentially died if you were not seeing the doctor for something and he just happened to have found the worst case of strep?
Correct me if im wrong, but strep can travel to the heart if not kept in check, right?

I will just say here that doctors are a bunch of shit, in my experience, so when someone tells me their doctor tells them something that also happens to make the doctor more necessary, I just remind myself of the last three doctors I saw that told me candida isnt a problem unless I have HIV 🙂

For example, in my last blood panel, my c-reactive protein-hs was high.
normal is 1> . mine was 4.5. She didnt see a reason this should be discussed with me, but did mark on my paperwork for the desk clerk to tell me that I need to buy vitamin supplements, and her office happens to sell them.

I hadn’t yet figured out i had Candida and was there for something related to my digestion, I can’t remember what.

I have not had immune issues since 2009, no infections of any kind or any colds, I have school children in and out of my house with all kinds of illnesses, colds, pink eye, sinus infections, and I never catch a thing, not even a sniffle!

I think for a few, this has to be beyond the immune system.

I think if you have a strong immune system but your elimination is weak/clogged (lymph, whatever), it might be a sneaky little back door for candida.

Your immune system is multifaceted. For a person with a significant immune problem, it’s like off balance–under-performing in some areas, over-performing in others.

I have a similar reaction. I get a thrush increase with onions, eggs, spinach, and other foods. It drove me crazy for quite a while trying to figure it out. Later, I realized I have immune reactions to those same foods–especially the high sulfur ones. I have a feeling an immune response lessens the body’s ability to control the thrush. Conversely, if I take something that boosts my innate immune system (like pine cone extract) the thrush lessons. I’ve found that changes, both positive and negative, to my innate immune system effect my yeast levels much more, than say, antifungals or probiotics. This evidences, I think, the notion that what most people have isn’t a candida problem, but an immune problem.

Avocados are your friend. Delightfully fatty. Eat ’em. Love ’em. When else in your life will you get to indulge in them as now?

I remember at the beginning of the diet I seemed to be losing a 1/2 pound per day. I started eating like three or four avocados per day. I even fried them up in slices with different spices, to make avocado fries. My favourite was mashing it in with smoked paprika and sauerkraut made of purple cabbage (it makes a tastier kraut, in my opinion) and spreading it over oat bran bread. So yummy.

A lot of people think white stuff is candida and it usually isn’t. Some people pass incredible “blooms” with enemas. But it’s likely mucous. I’ve heard that when that mucous starts exiting the system, it can leave some exposed tissue. It’ll heal, though it never hurts to get something checked out. Does there seem to be a lot of blood? If there isn’t much, I wouldn’t worry too much. Is it red or is it black? Black indicates a problem much further up the digestive system, red something near the end.

Pomacanthus: I have new copies of both of Cutler’s books–which I thought I was going to need but I don’t think I will. I need some extra cash and so was going to sell them. Let me know if you’re interested…
