So for the last 8 years I have suffered from thrush, constantly its always been I couldn’t go a couple of months without getting it in the UK. Now I live in Australia I have had it solid for 8 months, I cant seem to shift it all the peccary s and oral tablets help for a day. I have seen 72748724 doctors and they all do nothing, I have had blood test swabs everything and nothing. Anyone else suffer or cured their thrush with this diet, I cant find much online for it? I will literally try anything at this point it is ruining my life

    Hello,

I was so thankful to read your post as I am the exact same. I have been suffering with recurrent vaginal thrush for nearly 6 years now, since I was 17. Doctors don’t seems to care and do nothing, I have had a million and one tests done that have ruled out diabetes and anything other infection it could be. Now, if I take a tablet, it doesn’t even last a week and a half. I am crying every day and I’m so down with it all now – It’s really taking a toll on my mental health. In the nicest way possible it’s nice to see I am not alone in this – as I had yet to find something or someone who suffers as I do. I have it twice a month if not more. Now the doctors are refusing to give me the medication I need to keep the symptoms at bay so now every single day is a struggle and it’s worse than ever.

My doctors have useless, they didn’t tell me about the candida diet I had to find that myself through my own endless hours of research. I don’t know if it works or if it is even related to what I have but like you I am desperate and willing to try anything and everything.

I hope it gets better for you and if you have any info to pass on I would be grateful.

I’m sorry I don’t have an answer for you but I thought if you heard my experience you may feel less alone.

    Hi Beth,

Thanks so much for sharing your experience it does help
To know I’m not alone, I’ve never spoke or seen anyone else that has suffered from it like me.

I’ve had about 2 days relief in the last 7 weeks! It’s just constant, that oral
Pill does nothing to help me At all! I’m day 5 of the Candida diet and I think it’s too soon to tell, I’m taking women’s Vaginal health probiotic 2x a day, cutting out sugar and carbs! I also take immune boosters twice a day and I’m doubling the dose of the Candida cleanse. 2 in the morning 2 at night! As well as being on canasten 3 day pessearys!

I hope I will have some good news for you next week! I’ve lost 1kg this week so that’s one benefit of it haha!

    Dominique,

Oh I’m glad to hear that my reply was of some sort of comfort!

Yes I am also on the three-day pessary canesten treatment but haven’t noticed much improvement as of yet and my third pessary was last night. I am only on day 2 of the candida diet so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for improvements yet. I hope you notice some soon too! And thanks for the info – I haven’t thought about immune boosters so that is something I’ll definitely look into 🙂

I hope someone else replies with an better answer for us both… if not, keep posting on here and we can go through this together! I’ll be sure to post anything I come across that I’ve found beneficial to this condition – I’ve booked an appt with a natural remedy doctor on Monday to see if that is of any more help and I can let you know what the advice is from there. (I am based in the UK so if you are in Australia it will most likely be your Tuesday)

Also (if you’ve not already considered it but you probably have) I’m booking in to get a hormone check to see if I have an hormone imbalance from using the contraceptive pill – that might be something to consider if you haven’t already? It must be between the 3rd-5th day of your period to be tested however.

Despite it all, it’s nice to hear I might shift a few pounds!

Wishing you the speediest recovery – It’s so awful living like this.
    Beth.

Thanks again Beth, I’ve been doing lots of research and it triggered to me, when I went home to the U.K. in Feb I ran out of my pill ceresete and because I live in Aus now they would only give me a one month repeat and told me I had to get one from my gp here, so I did and he swapped my pill as we don’t have that brand here and it’s really since Feb it’s been Uber bad. So me and hubby have decided to come off contraception all together and see if it helps. We’re going to try for a baby next year anyway so be good to get my body back to normal, I’ve been on contraception for about 10 years solid now!

I had my emh levels tested to make sure fertility was ok back in March and I have a very low count of 15k as aposed to 45k a normal 28 year old should have! Maybe the pills effected it who knows! Anyway 7 days in and 3 days now off the pill & (sorry this is gross) we’ve started to pull out during sex as I also found the day after If he (you know inside) it would be horrific the next day! Im actually starting to feel better. I think il have a period today and I’ve heard that helps to push it out of your system to!

Defo let me know what the docs say if by next week it’s still not gone I’m
Going to pay to see a specialist, we don’t have nhs here so it’s really frustrating seeing those people costs so much money !

    Hi Dominique,
Don’t worry about too much info – It’s nothing I haven’t considered myself haha.

I came of the pill May 2017 as i was told this was the cause of all my problems – yet i’m still experiencing symptoms a year and a bit later and the pill is supposed to leave your system after three months! (or so i have read) I hope you have better luck than me though, everyone is different.

I will definitely try the hormone test just to rule it out – until then I will continue with this diet. I am heading to the docs tomorrow so I promise I will let you know everything that is said soon 🙂

Aw I feel so bad for you! I also went to see a specialist and all they did was sit me down and talk to me for 5 minutes then sent me on my way! So next time i am going to go private anyway.

I’m experiencing slight relief today due to the canesten pessary but i know my symptoms will return in 2 weeks or less 🙁

Maybe it’s to do with women it Oceania?!?! I used to live in New Zealand when I was a child – haha.

    Hi Dominique,

I went to the docs today and unfortunately I’m not convinced by what he had to say:

He doesn’t endorse this diet and told me that I need carbs and I need fruit, but I should cut down on yeast so replace normal bread with soda bread.

He’s taken a urine sample off me and on the 3rd he wants to run some extensive tests on me. I couldn’t get an appointment sooner sorry 🙁 but I can keep you updated with what he finds? We seem to have the exact same issue so it’s very likely we need to do the same thing to eradicate it.

For now, I’m going to continue with this diet until I get test results back and if it comes up with something different than fair enough.

It just seems to be a never ending viscous circle where doctors aren’t giving us the answers we need/want to sort it all out. Sorry it’s not better news. Have you noticed any changes yet with the diet? You’re further ahead than me…

    Hey you,

Oh really that’s interesting! I haven’t really seen a huge change to be honest! I’ve just started my period so I’m hoping it might flush it through a bit! What pill are you on is it ridgedon by Amy chance?

I’m going to see the specialist prob next week going to wait until I’m off so they can do swabs or whatever!

Defo keep me posted sorry it’s not better news for you too

Hi sorry it’s taken a while to respond…

I’ve been moving up and down the country to collect all my stuff from uni and I still have to have in my MA dissertation yet so i’m really rushed off my feet! I don’t think the stress is helping with the thrush tbh

Do you mean contraceptive pilll? If so I was on mycrogynon but I stopped taking it May 2017.

Aw okay let me know what they say and good luck with your appointment!

    Hi Beth and Dominique,
My names Rachel, unfortunately I have no answers but reading your stories is like reading my own.
I first got thrush last year after taking the morning after pill (to much information already?) and since then I have been in a constant battle with weekly thrush. I went to my doctor twice and got two twelve week courses of fluconazole. The second time I even got my boyfriend treated with creams too just in case, but alas, nothing has worked.
Last week I went to see a woman who used bioscience to look at how your body works, and she said my candida level was through the roof, and so started me on this candida cleanse. The information sheet she emailed me was slightly different from what’s on here, so I’m sometimes struggling with what to follow.
I also was on rigevidon, and have now been off it for around 5 weeks, as my doctor advised it can cause thrush. I now have the marina coil.
I was also previously on the B-12 injection, but my doctor then took me off as he said the pill can give a false low reading. Maybe get this checked as I have read there can be a link, and my problems started when I was taken off! (The morning after pill, contraceptive and B-12 all happened around the same time)
In October me and my boyfriend are travelling around South East Asia and then moving to Australia, that is only 10 weeks from now. I’m praying I will be clear by then, because it will be impossible to keep a sugar and carb free diet there living in hostels!
    Sorry for the complete rambling!
I’m only beginning week 2, anyone have advise for lack of energy? I’m a nurse and I’m dizzy/exhausted walking at the bare minimum at the moment!
Good luck with your doctors appointment Dominique!
    Rach

Rachel thank you for sharing! Where in Aus are you moving to??

Anyway break through went to the sexual health clinic and naturally they’ll test for everything to rule it out but I’m married so highly unlikely and if it’s that I cut his bits off 😂😂😂

Anyway the symptoms are nothing of an sti so have nothing to worry about, when she swabbed me and said you PH levels are normal I worried, she came back and said no thrush no bv?! What wtf is it then? She thinks I have excezma growing up with that and asthma she said I am subjective to allergies?!!! Who knew you could get eczema there?!! Anyway she’s given me a month repeat of the oral thrush tablet just in case, advised I tried sudocream as using canesten is actually making it worse!!

I’m staying off the pill regardless but very Interesting, all these years it’s not even thrush!!??

    Hi Dominique,

We’re hoping to travel all about the place! Starting in Adelaide and then working our way up towards Brisbane and round!

They swabbed me too, they just need to tick the boxes I think.

Oh noo, eczema there must be awful!! Although, I read that this cleanse can help with eczema too, do you think you will continue with it?

How frustrating after all that time, and you thought you had an answer!

Oh really do you have friends there? I went to Adelaide for the first time last week and booked a flight home early! It’s just like Great Yarmouth lol nothing to do there!

You should come to Melbourne it’s the best place in all of austrlia apart from the Gold Coast 😍

I’ve given up on the cleanse nothing she’s given me has helped yet!

I’m just in pain all the time I’m off to Darwin in two weeks I’m hoping some sun and salt water will help

Hi guys, sorry I’ve not been too active!

and thanks Rachel for adding to the thread 🙂

Since I last spoke I’ve suffered 2 bouts of thrush, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to stick to the diet due to work commitments and the travelling up and down the UK for work … despite trying my absolute hardest!

thanks for your suggestions I’ve never heard of eczema before – I’ll raise it with the gyno as soon as I am granted a referral. If i hear anything new I’ll be sure to post!

Each time I pray its the last but it always comes back relentlessly and the symptoms just get more aggressive 🙁 🙁 it really ruins your life
