Candida produce toxins, so an overgrowth of Candida increases the amount of toxins in the oil glands on the skin which causes histamine to be released. The histamine causes a widening of the small blood vessels which allows the fluid to pass from the bloodstream into the surrounding tissues; this creates allergic type symptoms such as itching. If the itching is severe, an antihistamine may help.
