I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what sort of food I could take travelling with me?
Over the summer I am backpacking and volunteering in Ecuador, something I’m really excited about, the only problem is I’m not sure what food I’m going to be able to eat out there.
Last summer a friend and I travelled Eastern Europe which was great, yogurt is to be found in abundance, along with kefir, which we can’t buy in the supermarket in England! All the hostels I stayed in had kitchens and there was plenty of fresh vegetables available. Most coasts had fresh fish restaurants for relatively cheap which would serve grilled fish and plain salad – delicious. However I will be spending a lot of time inland in Ecuador and have no idea what food will be available, although they seem to have plenty of exotic fruits I would love to try :(.
I was eating nuts last summer to keep me going, not knowing about the mould content and used to carry huge bags round with me in case food was not available. Has anyone got any suggestions of food I could use to replace the nuts? Easy to carry around and high energy? I’m at a bit of a loss if I’m honest!
Thanks Jo xxx
