    Hello everyone

I find myself eating a lot of oat bran and buckwheat these days. I’m 5 weeks into the diet I added buckwheat after 3 and 2 weeks after I got oat bran which was this week. If I don’t have veggies I usually eat buckwheat with chicken or fish. I stop eating eggs for breakfast so I have oat bran. I’m worried that I’m getting to many carbs. So there are days where I may eat buckwheat two to three times a day and oatbran once or twice if I run out of veggies. Is this a lot of carbs even though these foods are allowed?

    Humans are fuelled by carbs.
    So is Candida.

Humans can also be fuelled by dietary fat.
It would appear Candida can not.

Replace carb calories with fat calories and observe improvement.
    (aka. Atkin’s diet)

Agree with Kyle. People, governments, farmers, supermarkets, etc, want us to believe we need to eat carbs to promote their industry/product.
In reality we completely over estimate how much we need. If we all eat good quality protein & fats, & carbs from organic fruit & veg there would be a lot less health problems throughout the world.

Able and Raster I would love to hear your thoughts on this. I also have been thinking I been having to many carbs. I have a couple of slices of coconut bread each day and sometimes a buckwheat muffin. I wanted to add gluten free oat bran into my diet, so I would not eat eggs every day. Do either of you use a type of cereal or oat for breakfast sometime? Do you Bob’s Red Mill brand? I know I should be trying to eat as many veggies (on the approved list) as I can. I do try to eat a lot. But I am hungry often and want to keep weight on so I tend to eat coconut bread with every meal. Is there a point where you can have too much coconut bread?
    Thanks,
    Lauren

Yes it is a lot of carbs, and it’s possible that you would cure your infestation quicker if you cut down on the number. During the treatment, depending on the size of the individual, two to five a day for men and two to four a day for women is acceptable in most cases, but five or more servings every day of the week is probably a bit overboard. I would replace one or two servings with eggs, an avocado, or vegetables. The eggs are not bad for cholesterol as older studies suggested. I’ve written many times before on the forum in reference to this fact. Eggs contain a substance called ‘lecithin’ which can actually lower cholesterol.

DO NOT replace the carbs with fat and oil only.

Fat and oil cannot feed the beneficial bacteria, and this is one of the main goals of the diet. Avocados are the only exception to this as they are high in fat, but are also a prebiotic and will feed the bacteria, in fact, that’s why they’re on the “strict diet” which several of us followed for our cure.

During my treatment/cure (being a guy) I tried to keep the coconut bread limit to three regular-sized slices a day, sometimes four. Mind you, I used the large-loaf recipe which included equal parts of rice bran, organic oat bran, and coconut flour. Perhaps twice a week, if I had a really long and busy day ahead of me, I would add cooked cream of buckwheat to my breakfast along with a couple of eggs. If you’re a normal size female, I think you should keep the servings to two to four a day.

Bob’s Red Mill organic products are among the best, and this is what I still use today.

It’s true that the foods we’re speaking of are prebiotic sources, but so are green vegetables and other foods such as avocado, garlic, onions, leeks, and Jerusalem artichokes.

Personally, I preferred eggs to having too many carbs, so eggs were my main source of protein throughout my treatment and cure; they still are in fact along with dried beans.

Thanks so much. I don’t eat that much everyday and I just added those foods recently but when I run out of vegetables towards the end of the week I rely heavily on buckwheat or oatbran. I don’t eat both on the same day. I rotate, I should of mentioned that to avoid any allergies. I’m on a break from eggs it was giving me gas and diarrhea even with Swedish bitters. I ll try to reintroduce them in 2 weeks.

Thanks again you have put me at ease.
