I’m not sure if I am dealing with Candida or something else like gluten intolerance, but I am not feeling good and need to do something. I apologize for writing so much, but I thought it might help if I explain what has been going on.
I’m a 37 year old male and I’ve struggled with fatigue and other symptoms for over 12 years and tinnitus for 10. All is unexplained by my doctors except they try to blame it on depression. I tried all their suggestions (even antidepressants for a few years) and nothing worked. I just don’t buy it and know it’s something physically wrong with me. I haven’t felt refreshed after sleeping in the past 8 years or so and in the past 4 years or so, I started urinating all the time. The last 3 years, I’ve had bad heartburn come and go and have diarrhea more often than not.
2 years ago I moved to a small studio apartment in the country. It’s old and may have mold/dust mites…I’m not sure, but soon after moving there, things got worse. I became more fatigued, got shingles, two eye infections (10 months apart), started getting annoying floaters in my left eye, achy joints (wrists, fingers, and ankles), and my brain function became horrible. I always feel spacey like I am drunk, or not really in real life. I can barely focus to read, or do simple math, and my short term memory is horrible (memory used to be one of my strongest abilities). I also slur my speech once in a while and stumble over words. I don’t feel like I am myself anymore. In the past 6 months, I started getting hart palpitations that just happen randomly.
2 weeks ago, the ringing in my ears became so bad (a high pitch squeal), that I went to the doctor. I had a sinus infection and middle ear infection. I was given antibiotics and Sudafed and although it is better, the ringing comes back pretty loud (although bearable). At this time, I stopped running (I used to jog 24 miles per week) to try to let my body heal. I don’t know if my body is fighting the infection or something, but I am sweating like crazy all the time! It’s enough to soak through a shirt and leave a salt stain, yet others are comfortable and do not feel hot. I am not overweight, so that isn’t a factor. Also, I took my temperature and I do not have a fever. The weird thing is that about 4 years ago or so, I noticed that my normal body temp is now 97.7F. It used to be 98.6 before that, so I don’t know what is going on.
I just moved into a new house and am hoping things clear up some, but I have noticed when I eat, I get gas/flatulence. At first I thought it was when I ate bread, but even after eating a salad (just lettuce and chicken, no dressing), I notice it still happened. Still not sure what the triggers are.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS that I’m wondering if this sounds like Candida or something else. I did the spit test today and there were tails going down and things settling on the bottom of the glass, but not as many as I have seen in the diagrams.
SYMPTOMS: Constant fatigue, frequent headaches (sometimes migraines), awaking with a stiff neck, waking with a sore throat and super deep voice, sudden eye floaters, sinus infection, ear infection, joint pain, brain fog, feeling spacey, poor focus& memory, ringing in ears, blurry vision, poor night vision, seeing halos, heartburn and gas, body temp at 97.7, excessive sweating, usually have diarrhea, face seems unusually tan, even when I have not been in the sun. My hairline is also receding, which could be a coincidence, but no one else in my family is bald/balding.
If anyone has any insight, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I just want to take control of this and get my life back. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks for reading!!July 24, 2013 at 5:29 pm #108168

The mold in your old place likely greatly affected you and it’ll take a very long time to detox from the mold toxins and the candida that it produced. I think this situation out of everything you have mentioned could explain why you have candida.
Not all of your symptoms are related to candida though.
Your body likely has some kind of immune response and sweating is a good way to detox.
The gas after meals could be related to deficiencies in stomach acid and your body isn’t breaking down the food you eat.
The spit test is not accurate for diagnosis:
Check out this symptoms list:
We aren’t going to diagnose you but if you have a lot of symptoms on the list, then you can start turning your health around by the doing the diet and forum protocol we developed.

I would say yes, yes, yes this sounds like Candida. At least a lot of the symptoms I have. Some have gotten a lot better and some have gone away. That’s the good news. I can relate to the tinnitus, eye floaters, joint pain, blurry vision, stiff neck. I was tested (blood test IgG) and I have severe Candida. So that tells you something. The mold in your place is no doubt affecting you and your immune system and adrenals are fatigued by fighting the infection.
My advice is to start the protocol. First though I’d try and get a prescription of Diflucan and jump start your treatment. That’s what the Candida book I have says. It does help in the beginning and will let you know pretty soon off if it’s Candida you’re battling. If you start to feel better after 14 days of Diflucan then you’re on the right track. But it won’t cure you. That’s a long process of building your body back while fighting the infection. Hope this helps.
