I started with Caprylic Acid, then as recommended, stopped that and switched to Oregano Oil. I am now back to Caprylic Acid (same dosage as before), and my tongue has become thick (and one of my symptoms is NOT thrush) and I have gas again. Does this mean that the Oregano Oil was not working properly, and that the Caprylic Acid is as I am assuming my symptoms are die-off symptoms?
Also, I am not taking any other antifungal. I do, throughout the week, integrate raw garlic, rutabagas and coconut oil into my diet.
I did just order SF-722, can I use that with the Caprylic Acid?August 5, 2013 at 4:12 pm #108669
Yes you can take multiple antifungals together. Both antifungals were working effectively, however candida can adapt to caprylic acid after 6-8 weeks after use.
Keep in mind that antifungals alone won’t cure you and you need to change the environment internally in order to prevent the candida from growing; you can do this with probiotics and prebiotics.

I am also making my own goat milk kefir and drink one cup in the morning and one cup in the evening. Also, morning and evening, I take a 25+ probiotic pill. I’m six weeks in, and I am wondering if I can increase the pills and take 50+ billion/twice daily?
Regarding prebiotics, I regularly consume buckwheat—mostly as hot cereal in the morning with coconut oil, coconut manna, and a bit of kefir. But also have it in coconut bread, as pancakes, and every now and then, noodles.
And I’m really good about eating a lot of vegetables!August 5, 2013 at 4:29 pm #108672
Its up to you to increase probiotic doseage or not but you likely will feel better or worse after doing so. Ideally you should aim to consume between 40-120+ billion cfu per day.

Raster, could you clarify what constitutes good prebiotics? I’ve got some Standard Process inulin I was considering taking, once I’m further along in the diet (on week two now). Not sure what elements of the protocol are considered prebiotic.

Dr. Jeff found in his practice caprylic acid to be effective for 3-4 weeks.August 6, 2013 at 5:33 pm #108715
Prebiotic foods include artichokes, buckwheat, oat bran, teff, coconut flour, rice bran, stevia, chickory root, onions, garlic, and more.

thanks Raster. Is there a standard amount of kefir to consume daily?
