    I have read that all herbs are allowed. I am wondering what spices are OK.

    I found this online:

    Mild Spices
    Hot spices are to be avoided as they destroy the friendly bacteria in the gut but mild spices are allowed – cinnamon, nutmeg, cumin and other mild spices.

    I would think turmeric and fresh ground organic black pepper would be OK.
    I would like to know if red pepper, cayenne pepper or paprika should be avoided?
    Any other known good spices would be helpful.

    Very hot spices as well as curries can damage the flora in the intestines.

    Turmeric is excellent for Candida and as a blood purifier. Take it in capsule form because mixing in water can be hard on the stomach; also the tincture contains alcohol used as the herb extractor.

    Cinnamon is an antifungal as well as some of the other herbs, and oregano and black pepper as well are fine. Most mild herbs should be fine on your diet. Paprika also if used occasionally, but again, I would avoid strong, hot herbs.

    Cumin is considered a mild spice and would be OK.
    Some research shows that cumin has some health benefits.

    What about “mexican spices?” What about paprika…is that too spicy? Mild chili powder?
