Did any of the ladies on the strict diet notice to feel much worse week before your period? I always had PMS which was manifesting itself as irritability, lower back pain, legs pain, cramps, sometimes headaches etc. Since I am on the treatment it seems that symptoms for which I think are die-off get much worse week before my period and they stick around first day or two of my period. I get body aches, light-headiness and slight dizziness, muscle weakness so bad that I can’t push the clutch when driving, fatigue, brain fog, extreme thirst/feeling of dehydration and some of the anxiety comes back as well, I just feel awful!
I read that someone mentioned feeling worse during bad weather and hormone changes but can’t find the post. Is this the same? Is this a new PMS?
I did finally decide to “bite the bullet” and started taking a tiny teaspoon of blackseed oil, wanted to try it’s effects and to see if I will have die-off. Can it be the die-off? I felt better, then some fatigue, then feeling OK for the next day after first teaspoon. After second teaspoon the next day, I felt pretty bad fatigue, and next day (yesterday) I barely got through my day. On top of feeling bad and achy, I dozed off while working!!! I was actually typing while the sleep got me!!! I didn’t take any last night and this morning I am still feeling pretty bad and achy. I tried to get a little more sleep and see if that helps, but not.
I don’t get it. I should have killed large number of yest as I had several very strong die-off episodes. Now explanation for this could be that a.) blackseed oil is truly very strong antifungal or b.) my infestation is so bad that i didn’t really “touch the surface” with killing it yet.
I tracked my die-off episodes since starting the treatment and it seems that all my bad die-off episodes were right before my period, had two bad ones before period, then one miler before period last month, and had one bad outside of this pattern. Now fourth month I am having medium episode right before my period. I am not in bed, but I am having hard time going about my day.
Because of this coincidence I asked my OBGYN to check my hormones to see if I could be in early menopause (took a lot of drugs to get my kids and have a sucessfull IVF which have possibility of pushing you into early menopause, had to sign a paper to agree to the risk) but she said that I am not nearing menopause. Would she see if I had hormonal imbalance there? What hormones have to do with candida and die-off etc.? Anyone knows?
Any thoughts or experiences someone can share?
I am doing pretty well in terms of treatment, I am rid of most of my symptoms, but I cannot seem to get my strength back. How do I accomplish that? What is the reason for our muscle weakness? Is it lack of carbs and our bodies not being able to run without them? Or is it due to toxins? I must walk few miles a day as I can’t afford to park downtown and I must do some “heavy lifting” while caring for my daughters (one is 16.5 kg and the other 13 kg) weather I want it or not and this muscle weakness is really killing me. If I must hurry home for whatever reason, I get home and my muscles feel like I was on the stair climber for an hour on high! All I did was a brisk walk to my car and driving (which also often is a problem if I am stuck in traffic, I barely have the strength to push the clutch by the time I get home).
Anyone can explain this or give some advice?
I am in a bit of a bad mood again, call it a PMS or whatever, but I have hard time pushing on and need some support as you can see from my post. I had to vent a little, I hope you guys don’t mind. I am always positive, was 100% positive before candida got better of me, but yesterday and today I am followed around by a dark stormy cloud like a cartoon!
Ohhh, kids are awake, here comes my forceful exercise! Gotta put my smile on and pretend I am fine. Big sigh!!!

And to add, my tongue is pretty much pink after only two doses of blackseed oil. Past bad die-off episodes were always followed by worse white coating on the tongue not better so I am really confused!

I understand exactly what you are going through, this is what happened to me after taking tiny amounts of oregano herb, and then the buckwheat bread, its so confusing. Have you been tested for allergies? maybe you are eating something that is not allowing you to progress as fast as you might be able to ?
Also my doctor told me that symptoms are often worse before your period – that this often happens.
I am really concerned about my periods also as I have skipped a period twice in the past four months, my period is coming only every 8ish weeks, and I was always very regular. But I believe my hormones are out of balance due to the weight loss, and stress of this candida and also the clearing of it. So I am just trying to sit tight and hope they return to normal.
I believe though that if something is not making you feel well for now , leave it out. I have stopped the nystatin completely and I am focusing on natural foods, coconut oil and onions for antifungal action. You may be able to come back to it later. oh the other thing I learned recently is that mint teas ie peppermint and spearmint can affect your hormones, so as I was drinking about three cups of those a day I have now left them out and will see what happens, I m just drinking one cup of organic green tea, about 2-3 cups of nettle tea and the rest water. Don’t know if any of this is any help
hang in there, its a funny old battle but we will get there.

Thanks bighopes for your response. I got better around noon and feeling better did stick around for the rest of the day. I even managed to go out with kids and play ball. I took half a dose of blackseed oil tonigh to see if is what it was. Wanted to see if I will see same symptoms. I don’t know of any food alergies. I was tested for gluten and it turns out I am not alergic to it. I had an endoscopy done and they made a biopsy of the small intestinefew weeks ago but didn’t get results yet. Those take long time in my country so…

Could have been me who talked about increase of symptoms with PMS and bad weather. But for me it lasts through my period. Just went through week of double whammy, both at same time and it is not fun. I have hypermobile SI joint and also the ribs and vertebra in my back move more since I had a baby and it results in feeling cold, clammy and totally uncomfortable in my own skin. Not sure if anyone else ever experienced these? Have seemed to have increase in these back symptoms lately and I do the same as you, question everything…could it be this or that. It’s a really subtle symptom that can worsen with hormones and weather so I get a little self obsessive and that just increases the stress if I’m not careful. There are 2 things that I am doing that could be possibly problematic. Truvia? But I love it and hope not to have to give it up. Steviva has such intense aftertaste. Also do this BBQ chicken every Friday bc no time those days to cook. Pull Off skin and such and eat meat underneath but maybe sauce in tiny amounts from fingers etc? Not sure. So the chicken will go first and see how I do then if needed the truvia. But then throw in hormones or weather and my read on everything gets skewed. Ugh! I pray for relief Of self obsession and look to help others which helps get the focus off my stuff. It’s amazing. As I go through this I have heard if 2 other ppl semi locally doing the same. Seems this candidasis is so much more pervasive than I realized…And lastly, writing it all out helps get it out of my head. Then I can move on and focus on other things that need my attention…April 29, 2012 at 12:14 am #80328
I have bad back as well and it used to give me trouble with bad weather and this I can live with. I can live with the ear noise and general “feeling like crap” feeling, but what gets me is the muscle weakness, not being able to drive or care for my kids. The other day I dropped my girl while getting her out of her bed. Luckily she was not hurt, didn’t even cry since her sister thought it was hilarious and wanted mommy to drop her as well! My arms just gave up and I could not hold her (she is 16.5 kg). I started teaching them to climb their high chairs etc. to make it easier for myself.
I am still better since yesterday even though I took antifungal last night. I am not that moody either. I did take only half a dose and last time I felt good after first dose but next day it got me (if this is what it was). We will see. I guess I must do some more research about it. It just seemed that I was awful just before period, but have not so many of the old PMS symptoms so got a bit confused.
I guess our bodies are going through so much with this treatment and it all gets a bit confusing at times. I really had a bad day and needed to share it with someone and get it out. I too generally feel better once I get it out and then get on with my day.
Thanks for your response!
