The broth that you are supposed to drink during the cleansing stage is boiled using potatoes which is a very starchy vegetable. Starch is broken down into sugar in the body. Boiling potatoes releases some starch from the vegetable into the water so even if you’re discarding the vegetable you are still consuming starch. Granted, it’s probably a negligible amount but I thought the whole point of the cleanse was to COMPLETELY eliminate sugar from the diet. Can anyone explain this to me in a way where it makes sense to use potatoes in the broth?
