    Hi everyone,

I have been browsing this site and have found some relief in knowing I am not alone in this war against Candida. I really don’t think I can take much more!!

I had an intolerance check a month ago and have been told I have Candida (am intolerant to sugar, yeast, wheat and all dairy also eggs, chicken, ryvitas/rye, lettuce, spinach, tangerines/oranges/bananas and more).

I was told Soya Milk was fine, certain fruits are ok (cherries, pineapple, papaya even tinned as long as in own juice), booja booja ice cream is ok (it should be at almost £8 a tub!!) but am finding all these things are actually NOT allowed on any of the AC-Diets I’ve seen so far. I’m being told one thing and then finding out something completely different. It’s cost me a fortune, I feel terrible and my IBS has flared up with a vengence…something is definitely not right!!

I’m taking a number of supplements and for the best part have stuck to the diet. I’ve given in mainly to severe sugar cravings. I also haven’t been able to give up my coffee/F.V.Creamer in the mornings and I hate to say it but I also smoke 🙁 I’m under alot of stress at the moment and also getting married in just over 3 weeks so would like to know what I can/can’t eat.

    Can someone PLEASE help me?

Considering that, in your post you kept memtioning, “for the best part have stuck to the diet” I’m afraid that the only person that’s going to help you is yourself. We can tell you what to do all day long, but if you continue to do as you’ve described, there’s not going to be a cure. Painful as it may sound, it really is that simple.
As far as you being under a lot of stress is concerned, that only makes you perfectly normal as far as the other members here are concerned. Even so, most of them are following the protocol and gradually curing their infestation as there’s no such thing as a speedy recovery when speaking of a Candida albicans infestation.

Everything you need to know in order to cure your infestation is on the forum already. Read the links, make your decision whether or not to follow the protocol, and let us know if you have questions.

Thanks for your response but you seem to be under the impression I am purposely sabotaging my diet and going against all advice; this is NOT the case. I joined this site for support and guidance after researching and discovering I have been doing this diet all wrong!!

I quote “I was told Soya Milk was fine, certain fruits are ok (cherries, pineapple, papaya even tinned as long as in own juice), booja booja ice cream is ok (it should be at almost £8 a tub!!) but am finding all these things are actually NOT allowed on any of the AC-Diets I’ve seen so far. When I pay a Specialist to advise me I don’t expect to be given the wrong advice and in turn pay the price of being ill. I was NOT told to give up coffee/creamer, I was not told to quit smoking as part of the diet and as per my post I was told all of the above WERE ok!!

I was also told spelt bread made with a different kind of yeast was ok. I was severely ill. I was told Agave syrup was ok yet have found out otherwise. I was told Dairy free ice cream was ok then two weeks later he told me it wasn’t. So when I say “for the best part” I mean based on advice given at the time I started the diet. If I cave in to sugar cravings or any other cravings then yes I only have myself to blame and would not expect any sympathy!!

My point is that I have followed advice/the diet given to me by a Specialist; this is NOT about me picking and choosing what I want to eat. What makes one website/diet the ‘right’ one when you research so many online and find a number of them are different?

Able, forgive me if I come across as being on the defensive. I very much appreciate your advice and you taking the time to include links to the site I may have overlooked. The past month has caused alot of frustration.

    Thanks again!!

No offense, but I think your so called specialist doesn’t know what they are doing because all of those foods feed candida and should not be taken in order for recovery. If you want to get better faster, you need to simplify your diet even more.

    I’d cut the following:

    -all soy products
-all fruits until stage 2 (maybe an occasional green apple or blueberries is fine)
    -spelt
-agave syrup (this is basically sugar but a better form of it)
    -ice cream
    -coffee and creamer

If you want to reduce stress, the best way to do it would be to stop drinking coffee. I would also consider finding a naturopathic doctor who doesn’t promote foods with sugar.

I had trouble with coffee as well; I would look at it as a strong factor in why you are here in the first place. Here is a great way to reduce and stop drinking coffee:

1)reduce to one 12 oz coffee with cream per day
2)start drinking green tea 1-5 days a week.
3)start drinking green tea 6 days a week with one coffee day
4)switch over to green tea only 7 days per week
5)start drinking chamomile tea 1-5 days a week.
7)drink chamomile tea 6 days per week and green tea 1 time per week

I am also a smoker and I feel its a strong factor in why you are here also. You don’t have to quit to get better, but it’ll be something that will hold you back in your recovery.

I would follow the allowed foods list and come up with a diet plan that has no sugar and low starch. We don’t even promote rice on the forum diet.
