So I’ve been ‘diagnosed’ with Candida and have embarked upon a diet ( not your forum one but another which has been recommended). The issue is I’m a vegetarian – no meat, no fish, none negotiable. Meat and fish make me ill and I cannot eat them, so for protein I am relying on eggs. So far I have only been racking about around 1000 calories a day and this includes eating cottage cheese and having rice milk (2 things not on this websites diet) what else can I eat to get
My protein and calories up please?September 7, 2012 at 9:56 am #89846

The problem with rice milk is that it is inflammatory like all rice products and this is why we don’t recommend it while on the diet; same with all soy products as well as corn, carrots, etc.
Here’s my teff bread recipe if you want to check it out, plenty of protein within this:
When you get to stage 2, I would start to add in beans which have protein. I went into stage 2 after 6-9 months. Plan on a 6-18 month recovery time.
Hemp has a lot of protein so I would look into this as well.
Once you get your gut flora in check, you probably won’t feel so ill from meat products and can start adding it in then if you wanted. My naturopath asks all of his clients whether they eat meat or not, and if they do not, he tells them to eat meat because this by itself can cure their health problems.
