I’ve been having trouble with acid reflux for a while now I’m only 20yrs old. Last year i was on antibiotics for a sinus infection which caused me C.Diff and i ended up on antibiotics again. Then in Feb i was on antibiotics for a sinus infection again which i came to found out is a chronic one so i refused to take more antibiotics for it. Now i feel like i might have candida because I’m always tired, weak, fatigues, etc. However the diet is super strict and i cant loose any more weight I’m only 109lbs Acid Reflux already has caused me so many problems with maintaining weight. Not to mention I’ve been on a low carb diet which caused me to be so weak and caused me low blood sugar. I cant afford to go to a natropath to get tested and yes I’ve been to a doctor they do nothing but prescribe me some antiacids/PPI’s. I need advice on how to test for candida and ways to actually gain weight with a candida diet.
    Thanks

Try out the candia5 test, you can take it at home.

I have a bit of confusion. I looked up the test you mentioned: candia5

I copied and pasted this directly from their site:

    3. The Candia5 Test will detect IgC antibodies only. the presence of Candida antigens in cervical secretion specimens only, while performance with other specimens has not been assessed.

Is this helpful to someone that does not have cervical/vaginal symptoms?

I believe the test can be taken with both sexes and its the test that dvjorge recommends who is another expert here.

Basically there is pathogenic and non-pathogenic yeast. When it becomes pathogenic then it the body produces antibodies which can then be measured with the candia5 test:

Another route to test antibodies I believe is to go to an allergist and they might be able to do a similar test. Some digestive (GI) doctors also can also do testing (which is much more often covered by insurance).

Dr. Mcoombs which is another candida expert recommends some of these tests (which may be prescribed by GI doctors or allergists):

But none of them for sure can diagnose for yeast problems by themselves he states in his radio shows. He typically uses 3 tests plus whether you used antibiotics previously for diagnosis.

I think this part of their website sums up the information the best:
