I have been reading this website for the past 8 weeks, this is my first post. Thank you to everyone and everything that has helped so far, and thank you in advance to all of those still fighting your battle. We need to be strong.
After doing some research, I believe I have Candida in my kidneys. I figured out that I had a Candida overgrowth after weird red bumps appeared on my skin that would not heal. They would get worse and then get better, almost like a living being, it would grow and shrink. They presented almost like a MRSA skin infection, when they would heal they would leave an indentation scar in my skin. And then I started to get vaginal yeast infections- my first ones ever in my 26 years! Going to dermatologists, OB/GYN, urologists and even talking to multiple ER doctors (my husband is an ER nurse, I didn’t have to pay for those consults), no one could figure out my skin. All I got were diflucan tablets, steroid creams, silver cream, systemic antibiotics- nothing helped (although the silver cream did help for topical application and for a barrier cream, an overall soothing effect). I even did a 2 weeks regimen of diflucan, as soon as I stopped taking them, the symptoms came right back.
Overall, my symptoms have drastically decreased after strictly following the diet for 8 weeks and taking oregano oil, tea tree oil, coconut oil, fresh garlic, liver cleanse, herbal candida cleanse, 500 billion probiotics (the probiotics are the difference maker!) among other measures to kill off my infestation. I still get transient vaginal yeast infections, come and go about every 2-3 weeks and last for 1-3 days.
A little background, I also have interstitial cystitis, which is a bladder disease that prevents me from producing a strong lining in my bladder, leading to ulcer formation. My disease is much improved after going gluten free and then also starting the Candida diet. I also used to suffer from recurrent UTI’s, almost monthly. I used to take antibiotics like they were vitamins (the source of my candida infestation! Thanks Western medicine). The UTI’s have disappeared. I used to have endometriosis as well, but after exploratory surgery and excision, I no longer have it :).
My concern is, could my kidneys still be infected with Candida? Could this be the source of my recurrent vaginal yeast infections? Could it just be die-off symptoms? Does anyone have any previous experience or advice? Thanks in advance!August 9, 2013 at 7:30 pm #108848

Anything is possible but I don’t think we can diagnose you over the internet.

I think that it is a good idea to see a Naturalist instead of trying to self diagnose.
The guys here @ the forum are simply amazing but I think in your case you do need Professional help to diagnose.August 15, 2013 at 6:34 pm #109168

I thought the same thing for a while. SF722 and coconut oil started to hurt my kidneys more and more, until 1 tablespoon of CO and the next morning my kidneys would hurt when breathing in. I started on Cornsilk about a week ago, and upped my nettle leaf tea to at least one cup/day. And also occasionally some licorice root tea, and today parsley leaf tea – all of these ingredients are diuretics and are supposed to help rid the kidneys of built-up toxins. The first few days I could really feel it working, with slight pain during the day at times while supplementing. The first day I thought I might get my first kidney stone, but it never happened. Now, I barely feel anything in there. Maybe a slight bit first thing in the AM when I breathe in. Granted, I have not taken any SF722, but have been hitting the rutabaga hard and also my Nystatin, which never gave me kidney pain. So we’ll see soon when I reintroduce (but didn’t want to wait that long to post). Cornsilk is slightly antifungal so it may help your kidneys. If you do this, make sure to drink 10 glasses of water/day at least. I’m not a doctor so please do your research as taking diuretics can be dangerous I’ve read. You can buy cornsilk at vitaminshoppe.
