Does anyone have a good recipe for homemade spaghetti sauce? I’m planning to make my own using canned tomatoes…hopefully that is okay?

Eating tomato sauce concentrates the sugar found in the tomatoes and thus should not be eaten on the diet:

1 cup of spaghetti sauce contains roughly 23g of sugar, or as much as an apple.

It is also mildly inflammatory and is relatively high in the glycemic index.

This is such torture. Can I at least blend some tomatoes in a blender?? We are allowed to eat tomatoes right?

Tomatoes are a fruit and not a vegetable and are not on the forum’s food list. If you want to eat fruits, this is different than what we recommend. Some candida doctors such as Dr. Mcoombs recommend eating fruit and feels that it has little detriment:

Its up to you to decide what to eat on the diet and what is best for you, but if it was me, I wouldn’t touch tomatoes with a ten foot pole. A few cubes or slices on a salad won’t do anything for the negative but a concentrated sauce could bring consequence.
