    Hello everyone

In May 2012 I had chronic lightheadedness for about 3 weeks. It eventually went away and I thought nothing of it. It happened again in Feb 2013, again it was gone 3 weeks later. However, this past June (2013) I had went out to dinner with a friend, had a drink and I felt the lightheadedness sensation again. For the past 9 months now I have felt chronic lightheadedness, pressure on the left side of my head and headaches (those come and go in waves- not 24/7 chronic like the lightheadedness). After months of going to doctors I got no answer. However, I decided to give a medical intuitive a shot and she said she thought I had candida. What struck me as strange was she said a test may not show that I have candida and I could eat things like berries, cheese (moldy like blue cheese), rice pasta and rissotto. I told her I was going to a nutritionist and she was very defensive saying she had more experience than a nutritionist. I did go and the nutritionist from telling her about my diet does not think I have candida.

I started taking probiotics and coconut oil and my lightheadedness has gotten extremely worse. I read about the ‘die off’ period but I am so nervous that I was misdiagnosed.

I have been sick for so long that I am desperate for an answer. My question to everyone is has anyone just felt symptoms only in their head- specifically chronic lightheadedness, pressure and headaches?

Headaches are typically caused by inflammation of the gut, so at the least your gut is likely inflamed. If you were to reduce the inflammation, the headaches should go away.

The inflammation could be caused by constipation. How many bm’s do you have per day? If you are a once per day person or less, than this means you are constipated. Constipation is a digestive disorder and there are a variety of causes.

    Whats a medical intuitive?

I wouldn’t eat cheese on the diet until late in your treatment and I also wouldn’t consume rice products in high quantities. Berries might be ok though in low amounts.

Sounds like you are killing something in your gut with the probiotics and coconut oil, so this means you likely have a gut flora imbalance. What you are ill with is unknown but it seems like you could have bad bugs that have overgrown including candida. There are things that are similar in symptoms too such as h.pylori, SIBO, parasites, strept, mono, etc. so I recommend getting properly tested. Here are the candida tests I recommend:

    http://www.candidaplan.com/store/Candida-Testing/

I don’t think nutritionists are the best route to go; I would check out a GI doctor, a naturopathic doctor, allergist, etc. for proper diagnosis. Regular western doctors typically don’t diagnose digestive disorders.

Yes 570, I have extreme symptoms in my head. The foggy brain 24/7, anxiety so bad it’s hard to go anywhere, and at any moment during the day I would get a lightheaded passing out feeling, kind of like a panic attack. I always felt like I was right on the verge of having one of these attacks whenever I went anywhere. I also have extreme hypoglycemia and an ulcer that more than likely is leaky gut. To fight the ulcer, I took antacids for over twelve years. I believe as the result of the antacids and a stressful life, candida overgrowth occurred. Think it got so bad in my stomach that it got into my blood stream, hence getting into my brain causing all these life altering symptoms in my head, almost over night. In my research I came across something called gilberts syndrome, it described what I think is going on with me to a tee.

I’ve been following the advice of raster here on the forum. And after only a week of starting the three basic treatments, i’m seeing some results, I am feeling better. I have because of the hypoglycemia had to spend about two months before I was able to start the treatment slowly eliminating the sugar from my diet. I believe the candida was so bad in my blood that I could tell exactly what time the yeast would feed on the sugar in my blood causing my blood sugar to drop 100 points in just a half an hour. I never went anywhere without peanut butter and bread.

I went to an allergist slash candida doctor two weeks ago. He really didn’t have any experience with the severity of my candida problem, but he did have some basic foundational advice for me and my particular problem. He said the antacids deplete your d3 and magnesium, both of which he says cause brain fog. I’m taking about 10 different supplements along with magnesium, D3, and he has me doing 6 B-12 shots over a 3 week period. Other than that i’m following rasters program to a tee, the diet, antifungals, the probiotics, and milk thistle.

The results so far have been: My ulcer is completely manageable now, the pain in my gut is slowly getting better everyday. My hypoglycemia has stabilized drastically, to the point where I’m not eating any sugar throughout the day and am not have any crashes. My anxiety is way down allowing me to reconnect with a lot of the responsibilities I had to let go over the last 3 years. My brain fog had lessened about 30 percent, which is not where I want it to be, but i’ve only been doing the treatment for about 10 days. I know this problem took 12 years to create, it’s going to be a slow steady road back. And since starting the antifungal and the probiotic, I’ve lost 6 pounds in 10 days. In the last 12 years I haven’t been abler to loose a single pound, I could never understand why. Something good is happening to me thanks to the people here that give there time and effort to helping those of us in need. I hope you see a change in your symptoms soon.

Medical intuitives are great, and please dont worry about misdiagnosis-
*if* you were misdiagnosed, and followed the candida diet to a “t”, and took coconut oil and probiotics, you STILL would only be doing yourself a favor.

Research the benefits of probiotics and coconut oil, and it will put your mind at ease.
The diet combined with those supplements are not detrimental.

Odds are more likely a western doctor would misdiagnose you…I was misdiagnosed 4-5 times, once by a very expensive ENT who had no idea what candida overgrowth is!

Both die-off and feeding candida can make you feel ill.
Lightheadedness always accompanied eating a food that fed the candida for me, and still does.

If you have candida, headaches and pressure can mean your trying to rid yourself of the toxins that candida produce.

Do some reading on The Candida Diet Website.
There is alot of great information on there, and the articles will help you decide if your diagnosis resonates with you.

Probiotics disagree with me in high doses.
Lower your dose or pause taking them while you try to figure this out.

I also over the years fought a bad sinus, migraine problem. 3 years ago I went to a ENT specialist, he put me on fluticasone propionate. It got rid of the congestion and the headaches so I used it every morning for three years. I found out from my allergist two weeks ago that fluticasone is a steroid. Although it keeps this sinuses clear, the bad news is it feeds the candida, straight into the brain for me. So obviously I stopped using that, and he gave me something called “the Plummer”. It’s horseradish and cayenne pepper made into a spray. The neat thing is the cayenne pepper is a natural anti fungal, so far it’s working for me. Not being and expert by any means if someone has any input on anything I’ve posted, please don’t hesitate to reply.

    thanks

    I resonate with all that.

my ENT said I must have GERD. She prescribed an ant-acid that was $80 when I went to pick it up, and said I would probably be on it for life.
I dont have that kind of money so I laughed and refused it at the pharmacy.
7 months after that day, my candida resolved ON ITS OWN without any intervention (because I didnt know what candida was, only that I was reacting to sugar and starch and kept getting dizzy). I had been on 4 different antibiotics a month previous.

Thank you for this, found it- http://www.amazon.com/Sinus-Plumber-Horseradish-Pepper-Nasal/dp/B007QVIBT8 I want to have this in my house as an alternative to the mucinex my son has taken in the past for a sinus infection.

I cant say enough about horseradish and cayenne, they have so many healing qualities!

I take them in a warmed cup of V8 Antioxidant with crushed garlic and lemon…
I swear it its better than any pill, lol 😀

    Mscho570-
I recognize the foods your intuitive told you to eat as the protocol that Susun Weed also encourages.
While I disagree with it, it has in fact helped some people.

I think you will be more likely to find clarity with experimentation.
If you find relief over a few weeks with The Candida Diet, its likely you have/had candida 🙂

    Hello Faither,

These are pretty good results and I like how you’ve found improvement. It should only get better. If you still have bad anxiety, I recommend trying out flax oil which will heal your brain and heart. The anxiety is caused by your brain being slightly damaged due to previous lifestyle and candida toxins. The brain is largely made up of fat, and so if you fed it fatty acids, this should help. When I get anxiety it makes it go away completely.

Raster, thanks for the additional advice. One of my supplements is flax seed oil. I’m not sure what part of your treatment plan is working , but something is. I do wonder about my liver, since I’m one of the cocaine crazed survivors of the 80’s. I always heard cocaine was hard on the liver. Least of my problems though, no coke, no alcohol, and no weed for 28 years. I got through 10 years of drug abuse, I wonder if I’ll get through candida?

Raster, have you heard of gilberts syndrome? If so, am I doing everything I can to combat it?

Cat, just wanted to let you know, if your going to use the plumber nose spray for a child, it may be to strong. It’s a fairly harsh experience, but it works.

Noted and very much appreciated 🙂

I try every single thing before I give things to the kids, but this product sounds like it would be great to have in the house as back-up anyway.
