I am wondering if in doing infra-red saunas and some other mild detox methods (N-A-C) for heavy metals I could have brought back some of my older candida symptoms or if in fact the candida is back to the level where it was a year ago when I start all this.
What I’m wondering is if restless leg syndrome (a sign of mineral imbalance) tinnitus, aches in the AM and the feeling of being totally exhausted (esp in the middle of the day) could be the metals and not the candida….
I’m at a total loss if it’s candida in that I’ve done the protocol and diet for a year now, and these symptoms had gotten much much better. The only thing I added was Ultra Clear plus for metal detox (it has 19 grams of carbs from rice bran) and NAC and the infra-red sauna.
Any ideas?????April 25, 2013 at 4:06 pm #103512
I doubt your really removing anything if at all. NAC has one thiol bond and i imagine moves metals around a lot.
I do get those symptoms when using real chelators though. Fibro is common, so is exhaustion and tinnitus happens at higher doses.April 25, 2013 at 4:14 pm #103513

I also had an intial violent reaction (and ended up in the hospital) to Ultra Clear which indicated to me that I have very bad heavy metals, so I’m thinking I’m pretty toxic.
When you say “real” chelators, what have you used? I’m worried that I’ll do serious harm to myself given the way I react to these “not so real” chelators.
I’m an artist and have had oil paints with all their metals on my hands for 40 years.April 25, 2013 at 8:32 pm #103553
DMPS, DMSA, and ALA (The best). They all have 2 thiol bonds to catch metals instead of just one. Ideally we would have something better, but this is all that currently exists.
Andy Cutler’s method is the only one I have seen with real proof. The others are guesses in the dark it seems like.
If you have some money to spend get a hold of some DMPS. You have to have a perscription to get it though. Otherwise order DMSA from vitamin research products (its like 17 bucks a bottle with a coupon code).
I would say try some ALA, but it can move more into the brain, so you have to watch out. It is one of the only ways to get it out of the brain though.
I currently do 12.5 MG ala every 2-3 hours for 4-5 days then take a day or two off just to catch up on sleep. On round 5ish. In his book he showed you can take massive doses of chelators and it barely helps clearence.
Try taking 5 mg every 2-3 hours or so (Do 4 hours at night) of ALA. Or the safer route is to take DMPS or DMSA (DMPS every 8 and DMSA every 4) to clear the blood mercury first.
I have had tinnitus for a while from the candida. I’m finally winning but its great at pissing me off lol.April 25, 2013 at 9:43 pm #103557

Hi tebzzz, is it ok to do chelation with DMPS while on the strict diet? I am also planning to do chelation with DMPS as I feel that I have a quite bit mercury in my body. I have been on the strict diet for 7 weeks. I had 8 mercury fillings which was removed 7- 8 months ago. I tried all natural stuffs such as chlorella, clay , activated charcoal to remove mercury, but I still have issues with my adrenels and nervous system ( cranky, brain fog etc). I am afraid of trying DMSA as it causes candida to flare up.April 25, 2013 at 10:23 pm #103559

I wouldn’t do chelation unless you have thoroughly researched it and can be monitored by a health professional that has experience with chelation. If you browse the mercury chelation yahoo group (I likely have name incorrect) you will see many stories of people struggling while chelating.

Try to find one bad story from Cutler Chelation that went wrong while following protocol. There aren’t any.
The bad stuff happens when you stop taking night doses or take 1 DMSA pill every few days. Most of the stories you see are from IV DMPS. Which of course is going to cause all kinds of problems lol.
You have a really low dose, taken according to halflife. Its very safe. Its when you start screwing with IV and inconsistant doses you get hurt. Whenever you take a chelator you mobilize an amount directly proportional to how much chelator you take. Only a small amount actually comes out though. So taking a giant dose (IV for example) would move a TON of mercury around, while only removing a very small portion of that.
Andy has hard data in his book. Take a look at it if you want.
I’m an engineering student and it all makes sense to me, hence why I’m so for it.
