I find myself always checking my symptoms to make sure what I’m feeling isn’t something else wrong with me cause as we know, candida causes anxiety and anxiety causes us to become paranoid.
I have recently found the best list broken down into categories of what you can expect to feel depending on where your candida is located. Hope this helps some of you.
Reason I call it overgrowth/die off is they are pretty similarly related. When you kill them, you probably will feel a more intense version of these symptoms.
The following are some of the many problems that can he associated with an overgrowth of candida albicans:
Conditions of the skin: Athlete’s foot, ringworm, psoriasis, eczema, rashes, itching, easy bruising, acne, fungal nail conditions, warts.
Conditions of the digestive tract: Abdominal pain, constipation or diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome, bloating, belching, intestinal gas, indigestion or heartburn, mucous in stools, rash or blisters in the mouth, painful oesophagus, rectal itching, food sensitivity or intolerance, dry mouth or throat, bad breath.
Conditions of the reproductive system: Vaginal burning or irritation, discharge, endometriosis, infertility, period pains, menstrual irregularities, premenstrual tension, breast tenderness, persistent thrush, loss of sexual feeling. In men: impotence, prostatitis.
Conditions of the urinary tract: Frequency, burning, urgency, and persistent cystitis.
Conditions of eyes, ears, nose, throat and chest: Nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, itching nose, sore throat, laryngitis, loss of voice, cough, recurrent bronchitis, pain or tightness in the chest, wheezing, shortness of breath, spots in front of eyes, erratic vision, burning or watering eyes, recurrent infections in ears, fluid in ears, ear pain, deafness, sinusitis, dizziness, loss of balance.
Conditions of joints, muscles and nervous system: Muscle aches, muscle weakness, paralysis, painful joints, swollen joints, numbness, burning or tingling.
Conditions affecting the mind, as well as the body: Fatigue, lethargy, feeling ‘drained’, depression, poor memory, feeling ‘spacey’ or ‘unreal’, inability to make decisions, attacks of anxiety or crying, drowsiness, irritability, jitteriness, incoordination, inability to concentrate, mood swings, pressure above the ears, a feeling of the head swelling, insomnia.
Poor circulation; cold hands and feet, chilliness. Shakiness or irritability when hungry. Body odour, which is not relieved by washing.
Hope that is helpful to some, I know lately my neck muscles have almost felt like a burning sensation when I really attack these buggers. They actually acknowledge it in this comprehensive list as your muscles can actually feel a burning sensation.August 9, 2013 at 6:55 pm #108841

So wheezing can be a symptom of die-off? I started probiotics and eating more garlic about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and my tongue started having a yellow/white coating and I now have some slight wheezing. I know I have a candida/yeast issue (stool test confirmed yeast), but I had never had either of those two symptoms until I started probiotics. You are saying below that normal candida symptoms seem to get more intense during die off. I assume that also might mean that you develop symptoms you never had before during die off? I am a little scared over the wheezing, although it has not gotten worse over two weeks. If anything it is better. I liken it to a mild version of my allergy to cats. I get pretty bad asthma from cats. This isn’t as bad, but I definitely wheeze a little if I breathe out deeply. That is new since starting probiotics. Same with the tongue.
You are so right that this causes paranoia and anxiety. Thank goodness for this board. I am glad someone else is going through what I am going through. I don’t ever have any “normal” illnesses ever (like the flu), only things like this that doctors don’t understand.August 9, 2013 at 7:12 pm #108843

Wheezing might be caused by the toxins flooding your lungs and your body wanting to detox. What are you taking to support your liver ralph from the die-off toxins?

I am going to start taking milk thistle if I keep doing this. I am taking it slow–my probiotic is only a 2 billion count and I stopped taking it four days ago to give it a rest for a little while. I might stay off the probiotic for a while. I am not going heavy on the antifungals. Every other day or so I eat a small amount of raw garlic before dinner and cook with garlic in my food. I can tell die off is occurring probably once every 4 days when I go a little heavier on garlic for dinner, and I feel a little nauseous the next morning but it goes away by afternoon. Also I once ate a turkey sandwich for lunch with a LOT of onions and felt nauseous that afternoon. I am assuming die-off is occurring. I can’t do a full out candida diet or I will lose too much weight. I have lost 8 pounds since the beginning of July (when my symptoms were acute with diarrhea), but my weight is now stable. I am not eating any processed sugar (although I do eat pineapple, apples, and oranges), and no alcohol. But I still eat potatoes, wheat or rye bread, and rice. I had a full panel blood test last week and all liver numbers were in normal range.
