I cut out alot of fiber last month due to my bacteria overgrowth problem and probiotics. Recently I added in some yogurt to slowly reintroduce some good bacteria. I’m eating alot of bone broths, avacados, spinach, eggs, and squash. I also added blueberries and green apples once very two days. Well Sunday I ate some berries, yogurt and my newly made coconut bread. Two hours later I had extreme gnawing pain in my breastbone, and down to my belly button. So instantly I thought I have an ulcer. The pain subsides a bit and I ate fish and veggies. A little bit of pain. That night I went to the bathroom like 6 times when for months I have only had one bowel movement a day. I had slight pain the whole night. The next morn I had yogurt and eggs. I had extreme gnawing again 30 minutes later. I had to call off work. Again I went to the bathroom about 6 or 8 times. So I was thinking maybe it’s not an ulcer and just extreme gassiness? I maybe am thinking my hcl tabs are giving me an ulcer so I stopped, or my enzymes are hurting me?. Today I feel my stomach constantly gurgling, went to the bathroom about 7 times. The gnawing pain doesn’t burn like it did two days ago at l, just lots of movement. I wonder if my constipation has caught up to me and now it’s all coming out or my digestion is worse or better? Or an ulcer? I’m seeing a gi guy Thursday to maybe scope me but id rather not. Or I wonder if the combo of fruit, protein and fiber caused this? Idk. I just feel like I have a ton of gas in my small intestine moving around. Maybe the sibo reacting? Weird thing is my reflux is almost non existant. You made too many changes all at once so you can’t pinpoint the problem. You need to introduce these foods one at a time and see how things go.

Holy cow this is weird because just this week I’ve been having pain my my chest/breast bone area. Especially when I take a deep breath or move a certain way. I’ve been worried it’s my heart….but now think it’s probably just another symptom. Weirder still is that I reintroduced yogurt this week. What the heck is in yogurt that could cause a pain in the chest?

Dairy is hard to digest regardless. Could be built up gas. I feel better tonight, just alot of gas. Popcorn always gave me a reaction when I tried it months ago. It gave me some reflux. Dairy makes me mucousy but I want the good bacteria and its a good snack. And fruit should be eaten alone, I know better. But damn my stomach is going crazy.June 12, 2013 at 5:11 pm #106144

I never could digest dairy for the last 3 -5 years. I think that is also a sign of a candida issue. I found it was intermittent, like once in a while I could eat an ice cream and feel fine and other times I was running to the bathroom. We really only need milk as a child. After that our bodies don’t need it and therefore aren’t even designed to digest it.
The fruit you introduced is also highly acidic I do believe and if your digestive system is still healing, that could probably cause some acid reflux. When my digestive system was at its worse, I was getting reflux from everything.
I would avoid all diary and start super slowly by introducing fruits like raster said. one at a time.June 12, 2013 at 5:55 pm #106156
Yeah I added too much especially in combination. A few weeks ago I tried bacon on vacation and had no ill effects. I had a little yogurt yesterday, nothing too bad happened. Just bloating. In still cramps today but feel better. Had eggs last night and no bad effects. I’ll do a piece of fruit every two days. Should I stick with blue berries or green apples? I can’t say for sure but if I were you, I’d probably stick with blueberries for now. They are a natural antioxidant and I would assume the green apple would be quite a bit more acidic than blueberries.
