I’ve been on the diet for a year now and I could only introduce fruit into my diet a few months ago. I’ve been using L-Glutamine, and I think it is the only thing alongside the probiotics that cut out the majority of my symptoms – although I still have some food intolerance.

Now, I need to know what I need to do next. Strengthen my immune system? I still have foggy brain which I think might be caused by iron deficiency, and twitchy legs (mineral imbalance?). What would you recommend me to eat/take now?

I’d especially appreciate Raster’s reply on this. Thank you.

Building up your immune system is absolutely necessary if you want to make a full recovery. There are many ways of going about this. Addressing your methylation pathway can lead to significant gains in restoring and re-balancing your immune function. Detoxing heavy metals like mercury can also play a significant part in this. If you have/had amalgam filling(s) or are an avid fish-eater the latter is something you are going to want to learn more about.

Here are some videos on methylation that comprise a good introduction to the subject:

If this is something you’re interested in learning more about here’s an excellent book regarding the subject: http://www.dramyyasko.com/wp-content/files_flutter/1327512160_9_1_1_8_pdf_02_file.pdf

Amy Yasko talks about autistic children quite a lot in her book, but you might be surprised to find out that almost all autistic children have gut issues including food intolerances and candida. There is a lot of overlap between autism and those with candida and other chronic health issues, so unsurprisingly, effective treatment methods are quite similar.

I would consider focusing on healing your liver next via this liver cleanse:

I would wait maybe a month or two and do it in the spring (this is best according to my naturopath but you can do it at anytime). This should reduce more of your symptoms and aid in detoxing also.

The other thing I would consider doing is addressing your thyroid and adrenal health (at the same time). A good naturopath can help you do this hopefully; it isn’t something that you should do on your own because there can be bad side effects and/or complications.

The other two things I would consider include doing an anti-inflammatory diet/protocol and/or a biofilm protocol. This should reduce the yeast numbers further and make you feel better in general.
