Whether the meat is lean or not has nothing to do with a Candida overgrowth. The reason that eating meat is advised against is due to the animal protein releasing ammonia during the breakdown in the intestines. Ammonia contributes to a beneficial environment for the Candida therefore prolonging its survival. Bison is usually slightly higher in protein density meaning it can produce as much if not more ammonia than beef.
