If you suffer from some of these as chronic symptoms, a simple candida protocol might not be enough for you to feel normal again. It seems as some of the people on this forum do. As Dr Shoemaker (from the top link) explains, some people, 1/4 of the population actually, have a genetic disposition to sensitivity to certain biotoxins due to their inability to detoxify them properly. Interestingly, it is an inability of the immune system to make antibodies specifically to these toxins that makes a person unable to properly rid of them, and 90-95% of chronic lyme/co-infection sufferers actually share this genetic makeup (these bacteria/spirochete produce biotoxins). Those who really get hammered with these symptoms from candida are likely to fall into this group as well. For those of you who fall into this category, it would be in your best interest to also avoid chronic mold exposure. For many, the more exposure they have, the more sensitive they become.

The frontline test many doctors are using is a check of the compliment immune system actually, particularly C3a and C4a (NOT C3 and C4). This test must be run through National Jewish Labs in Denver Colorado. The most likely way for a local lab to run this would be through the Mayo Clinic. The Mayo test numbers are C3a- #FC3AL & C4a- #Zw85, #C4AL
Many cfs doctors are beginning to use this as a frontline test. Elevated TGF-b1 is also another clinical indication.

If either one of those come back significantly elevated, specific further treatment should be looked into.

This is another very new area of medical research and treatment, but is one that is bringing answers and relief to many people.

Run your raw data through genetic genie and post a link to the results in your own thread. I wont be able to really get into it until tonight or tmrw evening.

Follow the instructions in the link, then start your thread and post your results, I believe a link to the results page is all that is neccesary. You might as well do this one while your at it.
