Essential oils are a very grey area for candida because of their unknown effects on good bacteria. I have not seen any good research on the possible effects they might have on good bacteria. Most practitioners don’t recommend essential oils internally because they can be very harsh and irritating on the GI tract. Not to mention that some can have sensitivities to the alcohol-like chemicals in them. Spicy essential oils not recommended for people that have sensitive/inflammed gut( clove, oregano, thyme, etc….) Some can really “burn” the intestinal lining causing a lot of inflammation.
Lavender is probably one of your more gentle oils. Keep in mind It can act like a sedative. I would rather try fatty acids(undecenoic acid, capric acid etc…) before i do essential oils. Lavender is a good topical essential oil.
