Here’s what I wrote about reactions and I will try to elaborate, the search function on the website only gives you 100 results and I had a good post maybe 200 results ago about reactions…and cannot find it.
If you get a mucous “cough” right after eating, then this is an allergic reaction. However, mucous production in general is more related to immune system functions and not necessarily allergies. The mucous production in general should be concerning because mucoids protect candida from destruction. However, when going through die-off and detoxing, you should experience a large amount of mucous production in general. I had a runny nose and a bad cough for a few months after starting the diet.
For instance, if I were to eat a burger today, I would get a mucous cough afterwards. However I would not necessarily get mucous production all day long, or even the next day.
Also, during the die-off period your body is going haywire in general. There should be a wide variety of symptoms; in general they come in go are only temporary. When they become persistant after months/days/weeks on the diet, then that is when you should be concerned.
If you do become allergic to anything, it typically takes a few days of trying it out and not necessarily the first day. Most of us who have candida get the “leaky gut” burn reaction to foods that don’t work with us.
Leaky gut burn “reaction”:
Very similar to what is known as “indian rug burn” where your body gets a burn feeling that encompasses the body, lasting for a few minutes to a few hours. Its very similar to hyperventilation symptoms and doesn’t feel very pleaseent.
Other “leaky gut reactions” include but are not limited to the following symptoms:
Headaches, dizziness, vertigo, heart palpitations, mucuous production, tremors, muscle twitches, IBS, breathing difficulty, and I am sure there are more.
I also get a “head change” feeling when I eat foods that I am not supposed to. Its like a light click in the brain where your body tells you that this isn’t right. This is much better than having a leaky gut reaction.
Die-off symptoms (some people “reaction”):
IBS, headaches, tremors, heart palpitations, mucuous production, malaise, fatigue, irritability, unable to handle stress, sensitivity to light, and flu-like symptoms. Die-off basically makes you feel very “toxic” and bad for a period that last hours to days
I left bloating off of the list because I don’t think its related to die-off and I don’t think its a reaction. I feel that its the product of poor digestion and our organs being slightly damaged.
