I had to cheat when I went away for a work trip. That was after 4 weeks on the diet and now I’ve been on it for 4 weeks again – the last week being the strict diet. Symptoms are so much slower going away this time even though I’m even more strict than the first time.
Sometimes the urge to eat something easy and satisfying gets too much but thats why Ive baked the coconut drop bsicuits on the recipe forum for those days where I feel I can’t take it any longer. Even just a mouthful of them calms me down and I usually can’t finish a whole one. It just takes the edge off eating veggies all day long. I also nibble on some coconut bread – the one made with yogurt actually tastes good enough to stop my cake cravings.
You just need to start again – don’t beat yourself up because this diet is bloody hard! I’m so tired of planning ahead with food while trying to do normal things in my life which have been put on hold (including the 5K run I signed up for but I’ve no energy or stamina on this diet for something like that)
I guess you can just think how bad you feel and thats enough to maybe put you off the bad food. It’s working for me – every time I get a pain or bloated and feel even more miserable than the pleasure of eating a massive cake or something!
Hope you feel better soon, sounds like you need to ride that illness out with lots of rest.
