I’ve been strict with following the diet and I noticed that I only got Candida-die-off symptoms about two-three times so far (in the form of flu-like symptoms and diarrhea) and they only last about half a day. I’m concerned I’m not getting enough die-off symptoms because isn’t that supposed to mean the diet is working?
Yes, die-off is a sign that the diet is working. But the degree of the symptoms you experience depends on what you’re doing as far as a treatment is concerned. Have you taken any antifungals? Are you taking anything to lessen the die-off effects such as daily saunas or soaking in a hot tub of water for 20 minutes a few times a day? Or are you taking Molybdenum Amino Acid Chelate?
I can however tell you this; if you do have a Candida overgrowth, and if you are not feeding the Candida at all, then you are destroying Candida every day, die-off or not.
So I am taking on the cleanse in hopes of spurring up the symptoms (well, and to have a cleansing stage haha).
I’m 21, so I don’t know if maybe my age would have something to do with the lack of symptoms, but I’ve always had a bad immune system so … I don’t know. Any thoughts?
Actually, severe die-off symptoms are dangerous to your body, especially your liver as the toxins can actually become too much for your liver to handle during the worst times of die-off. You’re better off the way you are, especially if you’re not taking or doing anything to offset the potential dangers of the toxins.
