I just did some Ayurvedic research on turmeric. Turmeric is a very powerful spice and one needs to be careful how to use it. It has drying and heating qualities inside the body, so it is advisable to take it with some ‘cooling’ foods like coriander (1 part turmeric with 6 parts coriander or cummin).
Or can be taken with warm milk so it mixes with the lipids in the milk and does not cause its ‘drying’ effect inside the body. Some people also take it with ‘ghee’.
You can google ‘turmeric sutras’ and watch some videos on you-tube by Vaidya Mishra and learn some more on this herb.I would suggest to please avoid taking just turmeric on its own.
