I didn’t read this many books on the subject because I can’t tell marketing and online ads from the real, trusted authors who give pertinent advice. And, on the other hand I can’t even afford new books right now, after being laid off at job (and I’m still praying it’s not a 100% definite decision) due to some days of being in bed due to the horrible symptoms. Since there are no doctors competent enough to prove the Candida Related Complex as a real condition in this no mans land where I live, everybody thinks it’s all in my head and I’m also lying, on top of all.
Btw, what tests should I do to prove the imbalance? Except for the one for candida. Which confirmed that my probiotic flora is almost absent and the candida is overgrown. But doctors treat this here as something like a flu, I’m afraid it’s not yet recognized.
Should I do the mercury toxicity test?
Do all CRC patients test high mercury & heavy metals toxicity, or can that also turn out ok? (even less proof to prove)
I don’t want to throw the money out the window with this test – not right now at least, because it’s rather delicate.
Looking forward to reading you again and learning more.
The books are pretty cheap. Orian Truss was the MD that discovered this syndrome, and wrote the book The Missing Diagnosis, and later The Missing Diagnosis II. The Yeast Syndrome by Dr. Trowbridge is only about $7 on amazon. The Yeast Connection by Dr. Crook is another.
Truss talks about how yeast toxins interfere not with the production of ovarian hormones, but with the response of the tissues to them. He mentions that ovarian hormones do affect the brain, so if the brain doesn’t properly respond to ovarian hormones, it’s easier to have psychological issues. I’m just skimming through the pages; he goes into more detail.
I tested negative for heavy metals and yet have CRC, so heavy metals are not a prerequisite for CRC.
I can’t tell you which tests to get or not get. Your best bet is to find a holistic doctor that understands things like CRC, mercury, etc. and can help you. I don’t know what country you’re in, but this is a tool to search for holistic doctors around the world:
