As you can see, you cannot completely avoid sugar while on the diet. A head of lettuce contains 3g of sugar and you need veggies to get better! I came up with a general rule to follow, but I have to admit, I don’t follow it much myself but use it more for a mental reference point.
I would try to limit your sugar intake to 25g of sugar per day. For instance, one serving of greek yogurt contains 8g of sugar, 2 salads per day 8g of sugar, and a slice of pumpkin pie muffin bread 2g of sugar, etc. So, 2 servings of greek yogurt might be too much…keep in mind you shouldn’t try out yogurt for a few weeks, but just using it as an example.
