The thread title comes across as a bit misleading given the context of the forum. Diet strongly influences the composition of someone’s gut flora. If you were on an Atkins diet, for example, many beneficial strains would practically disappear while various pathogens would flourish. It’s not unsurprising that differences are diverse between species. I wouldn’t expect my GI tract to be indistinguishable from a chimp’s.
