I don’t like the GSE, but the other antifungals are really the only way to reduce the enormous numbers of the Candida in the beginning of the treatment. I used them and I’d guess that everyone who has written a testimonial in the Testimonies to the Diet and Protocol used them as well. However, I’ve always stressed that, once you’ve reached a certain point in the treatment when the die-off has lessened considerably, they should stop the antifungals and concentrate on reestablishing the flora in the intestines by increasing the probiotics, kefir, and also eating lots of prebiotic foods. The following statement is also part of the protocol:
“Remember that antifungals should only be used until the die-off has lessened to a large degree. Then you should stop the antifungals and concentrate on reestablishing the flora in the intestines with probiotics, kefir and plenty of good daily prebiotics (food for the bacteria).”
Keep in mind that coconut oil does not interfere with reestablishing the flora, but instead provides a beneficial environment for them.
